Yaxel Lendeborg and Patrick Williams are both the same age and play the same position. Which of the two would you say is a better basketball player today?

I watched Cam Carr last night in the College Basketball Crown tournament and it further affirmed his talent level. He was a man among boys. You know when you’re watching Castle and he has a certain flair? Carr has that. If he falls outside of the lottery, someone is getting a massive steal.

OKC is getting two picks before us and will take Carr and Steinbach, possibly the two biggest steals in the draft.

Trading down into the mid 20s and snagging Ngongba doesn't sound too bad tbh

You don't have to resign yourself to wait your turn and hope for the best, if you're convinced a player is clearly above the rest and you can do something about it, you need to seriously consider it. Dallas did for Luka (and tried for Haliburton), OKC for Cason Wallace, Memphis for Bane, Houston for Sengun, even Spurs for Kawhi back in the day. Spurs have plenty of picks they can move if they need, those in '27, '28 or '29 don't project to be great picks, trading one of those for moving up shouldn't be out of the question depending on who's available and what's on the table (neither should be trading down or out).

With that said, I'm convinced there will be good options available with Atlanta's pick.

We'll get someone we need. Slightly irritated that OKC will replenish with two picks in a pretty deep draft.

I'd be surprised if the Spurs trade up, however, as they never have in memory. But things change.

Good points! But the Spurs aren't normally a risk taking fortune favors the bold type team. Last time was the George Hildraft night

Just dont know what to think of this guy...But i think theres a really good chance he returns to college anyways.
He’s what people think Cenac is. He’d fill in that Naz Reid / Aldama hole some here think we lack.

Graves has an easy path to minutes right away since he can shoot. Typical Spur requirements to play right away is knowing your role, play defense, and space the floor. He will have at least two of this down already.

The chode who is doubling down that we should have taken Kon instead of Dylan now wants us to reach for a UDFA at pick 20.

Checks out. I think KOC just hates the Spurs.
He seems to be getting progressively worse with his NBA analysis for some reason. It's odd cause he used to be decent. Can't even remember the last time I agreed with one of this takes tbh.

Same guy who had Killian Hayes #1 in 2000 over Ant, Haliburton, Lamelo, Avdija, etc. Just go with the opposite of what he says and you're guaranteed 100% hit rate.

Karaban is too limited to be drafted at #20. I rather see Spurs trading the pick or gambling on a long term prospect.

Spending a second round pick on a shooter like Karaban, Richie Saunders or Ryan Conwell is something Spurs could do. It would complement well the main rotation.

One of the safer picks at 20
He looks clunkier and chunkier than I expected. His stats are amazing, but I think he didn't just play for a mid-major, he came off the bench. I think he may transfer into division I and try to rank up. NIL money is better than the second round, where he may go.

He's also 24 and won't be anywhere near BPA at the 20th pick. Never happening. Karaban's def a 2nd Round guy.

I agree with you about the Warriors. Did you notice how they keep delaying Curry's return so they would lose enough games and then go out quietly in the first play-in game. It's almost as if they were promised something in the lottery :st-lol:. Even for this shameless league, another drastic jump, especially by a pet-franchise, would destroy their credibility which is already in tatters.

As for the Mavericks, i think they are done doing them favors. If things go south there, Flagg is going to be Boston-bound in few years. He is from Maine and grew up as hardcore Celtic fan thanks to his parents who are apparently influential with him (he is already doing commercials with Larry Bird while being asked in pressers about feeling the 'home crowd '... in Boston when the Mavericks visited there). You and I know how this league works: He is their post Tatum/Brown era Celtics' plan. Boston sits higher than Dallas on the food chain, imo.

After the Mavs conveniently vaulted up for Flagg last year, Richard Jefferson said, to paraphrase, something like the league secretly likes the conspiracy theories related to the lottery because they realize part of their appeal to casuals is that they're a drama league.

Flagg, like virtually all top prospects, is likely entrenched until his 6th-7th season, when his UFA status will be looming. In the meantime, the league is going to want him set up for success.

Tatum and Brown are still young enough that the league doesn't have to concern themselves with a Celtics succession plan for a while yet.
