Sean Elliott had surgery, pre-nba.
OG Anunoby tore his ACL pre-draft as well, but Quaintance had a torn ACL, meniscus, and a knee fracture. He's also experiencing knee swelling. It doesn't sound like a resolved issue, and I'd be pretty scared to use a high lottery pick on him.

Yea that's the big question with JQ obviously. Is his knee really still giving him problems? Or is his camp just playing it safe and holding him out to be ultra-cautious. It's a significant injury and he's barely played this season so it's hard to get a read on it. His medicals will ultimately determine where he's selected

As I said a couple pages back though, IF* his medicals check out, he'd be really enticing and imo might be too difficult to pass on if he were still on the board in the 14-16 range. I feel even more strongly about that after last night. I personally think he'll be gone by the time we pick, as he'd likely be a top-10 lock if not for the injury, but if he's available, I think MATFO might have no choice but to seriously consider taking him. He'd be arguably the best backup defensive Center in the league from day 1. His floor is basically Robert Williams imo, who is a defensive monster when he's actually able to stay on the court. He's quick enough to switch onto wings and guards. He's got an elite physical profile at 6'10.5 255 lbs with a 7'5 wingspan. Might be the best athlete in the draft. And still only 18 years old as he entered college a year early (was only 17 in the highlights below which is scary). Just a physical freak and he also appears to interview well so I don't foresee his personality being any issue. The medicals will be everything for him though, and like you said, it is a significant risk taking someone that high coming off that injury.

If Swain or Jefferson somehow fell to the Spurs in the second round I'd legit shit myself tbh. Of course, that depends on whether the Spurs trade the pick for good Ole Cash Considerations.
i prefer Jefferson between the two by quite a bit, but yeah i agree those should be second round targets

Burries is really nice. Has some of that Harper-esque ability to finish in the paint once he gets downhill, but plays off-ball and is also a good shooter with room for improvement. Also has pretty solid defensive tools and competes on that end. He's pretty squarely a 2, so I'm not sure exactly where he would find minutes with our 3 headed combo guard rotation... but he could share the floor with any one of them, and probably with two of them if Castle is playing as he could defend SFs

of course of a couple years down the line if Burries pans out and Fox gets moved, then you just have a 3 man guard rotation of Castle/Harper/Burries

with that said im skeptical burries makes it to the ~16 range we are expecting to pick at

He may kill it during the tournament and go top 10.

Yea Burries is shooting up boards right now. Don't think we'll even have a shot at him. That latest NC mock has him going 9th overall to Chicago.

sweet prince. much like carter bryant, started the season ice cold from 3, but he's starting to get more run with the real team since around the time Brooks got hurt. in those last 11 games he's played, he's averaged 19mpg, has made 47% of his 3's on 3 attempts per game as well. the actual block/steal numbers havent been there but his defense has been noticeable. i had him in the same tier as carter bryant and would have liked getting him at 14 as well. but when he fell to the 2nd, i was really upset we didnt move back up for him

there were questions about his processing speed and bbiq (frankly, a lot of what we saw with carter bryant early in the season)... but bet on guys who compete on defense, have freakish wingspans, and can shoot

How much of your argument “against” drafting Lendeborg since he’d be eating into Champs or Bryant’s minutes is based on the re-signing of Barnes? I honestly believe they are re-signing Barnes even though I really hope they don’t. Well…what if they don’t? Champ is at about 28 minutes. He’d only need a few more minutes added if any. Bryant is at 10. How much more would he need? 10 more? 15? That’s a big jump but I’d be fine with that. KJ is at 23 I think he’s on target.

If Barnes is gone, that’s 27 minutes opened up. Lendeborg, Haugh, Cenac, Jr or Jefferson could be next season’s Bryant at about 10 minutes with additional minutes to spare. So there won’t be any eating minutes IF Barnes is gone. Who out of those I mentioned would be your choice?
I'm assuming that CB is going to be getting considerably more minutes next season as part of his development curve. I can't imagine he stays at 10 MPG again. If* we don't re-sign Barnes, then yea we'll have a need for another F. But I'm pretty sure they're planning on bringing him back tbh. If they don't, they could target John Collins or another F in Free Agency using the MLE.

Of the names you mentioned, Cenac would be my choice. He's been slumping lately but I still like him as a prospect and a stretch-PF/C archetype. He's also a very good rebounder. I think he should return to school and if he does and plays well next season, he's likely a lottery pick in next year's draft. But if he comes out early, he could likely be had in the 14-18 range and we might get him as a steal. He projects as a very similar player to Naz Reid. Great physical profile at 6'10.5 240 lbs with a 7'4 wingspan. That's the type of player the Spurs could develop over the next couple years that could and likely would pay dividends for us down the line. Just turned 19 so he's got time to develop.

Future Spur Thomas Haugh with a terrible shooting performance vs. Kentucky so far at 2-9, but 9-10 from the line, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 blocks

Yea the old guys Yaxel and Haugh both played poorly on offense today. Yaxel only had 6 pts on 1/4 shooting. Seemed more passive than usual. Michigan mostly ran their offense through Mara today so maybe that had something to do with it. Either way, not their best showings.

damn, big shot by arizona to knock out my guy JJ. JJ had some big plays in this game. Too bad.

Another backup Center prospect who's really come on as of late is Motiejus "Mo" Krivas of Arizona. Elite physical profile at 7'2 260 lbs with a 7'5 wingspan. The 21 y.o. big man from Lithuania is currently averaging 11 pts, 8 rbs, 1 asts, 2 blks, & 1 stl on nearly 60% from the floor. He's also shooting 36% from 3 this season, albeit on low volume as well (a little under 1 attempt per). He's a really impressive 80% FT shooter though on 7 attempts per game which bodes well for his 3PT shooting prospects at the next level.

He anchors that elite Arizona defense while providing some spacing and nice touch around the basket. Finishes well with either hand which is important. He's also one of the better Offensive Rebounders in the country with a 14.2% Offensive Rebounding Rate. Not sure he'll be available at pick 35, as I think he might end up sneaking into the First Round when it's all said and done, especially if Arizona makes a deep run in the tournament like I think they will, but I'd seriously consider him there if we was.

My boy Cenac with a big first half vs. #14 Kansas. 15 pts and 6 rbs on 5/9 shooting, 3/4 from 3. Hope he plays well the 2nd half too and doesn’t disappear.

Peterson shouldnt be sniffing the 1st pick. It should go

Dybantsa
Boozer
I might even put Wilson over him

At least Dylan can look like he’s the best big guard in this year’s and last.

You watch alot of Iowa State, what are your thoughts on Milan Momcilovic?
His coach really draws up plays just to get him to shoot. An elite shooter specialist to me is one that moves and moves and moves offball to get open, like Mullins. I think he’s a tier below that because he doesn’t move as much. If there’s any takeaway, it’s that he is an example of why we shouldn’t overspend for Champagnie.

I have him two tiers below Mullins myself. I do like him as a 2nd round pick if he's there.

im liking mara more and more everytime i see him.Still like yaxel with his defence.

It’s upset after upset. Mara is stepping up. Wouldn’t complain if we drafted him with the 16th. That would be sustained excellence for all 48 minutes.
