Draft 2026 NBA Draft Prospects Thread

For what it’s worth, Koa Peat is Corliss Williamson. For better, for worse. Love him. But he’s a beast in the lane, with no perimeter shot, who does well off the bounce and on middy elbow jumpers, with enough thunderous athleticism to rattle a rim but not be a high flyer, who is a bit too upright on D to defend most SFs. So, realistically, he’s locked into a Draymond hybrid minus the elite D and minus the perimeter shot of any semblance.

He’s a great prospect 25 years ago. He can impact today’s game uniquely, but I hold concerns over his NBA upside.

Also, his parents are major athletes, Todd Peat, former NFL Lineman, and Jana Peat who lettered in 3 varsity sports and played collegiately.

Koa is the youngest child, all of them athletes at least Div 1 collegiately, with two in the NFL.

All are named after a type of Wood/Tree.

I’m with you. After seeing Gary Payton II, Podz and whoever else from the Warriors last night playing suffocating defense, we need our version of that. We need our Caruso, Dort. Right now Castle plays that role but he’s too important on offense to get into foul trouble like he does because he’s playing that way.

He needs to add some strength, but I think he can. He's playing himself from an undrafted rookie into a guy thats rising pretty quickly on the boards. He's got to be in consideration. Castle, Harper, and Fox need shooting at the 3 and 4 around them on the offensive side and a stopper of the defensive side and this guy has the potential to do that from the 2 and the 3.

What are you college hoop heads thoughts on him?

I'm not sold on him. Decent finisher, but shooting is my biggest ? Being Peja's kid you wouldn't expect that, but I'd need to see a good bit more from the perimeter to entice me considering all of the suitable archetype talent in this draft.

Carr is off to a hot start no doubt. He's averaging 24 Pts / 4 Rbs / 1 Ast / 2 Blks / 1 Stl on 67% FG% and 52% 3PT% through 3 games. Those numbers will come down a bit as the season progresses obviously, but he looks like a solid prospect based on his athleticism and shooting ability.

Biggest concern with him is obv his size. 6'5 and only 175 lbs... He will get bullied at that weight in the NBA by bigger/stronger guards. And Spurs are already small as is outside of Wemby and Kornet. We desperately need more positional size on this roster.

Good point. According to the University of Tennessee's basketball website, his wingspan is "just shy of 7'2 with a standing reach of 8'10." That's impressive and does help make up for his lack of size a bit. Still definitely needs to get stronger though. Would be great if he could hit another growth spurt and add another inch or two to that frame too. He's definitely an intriguing prospect though. Curious to see how far he moves up draft boards this season as he was a projected early-mid 2nd Rounder before the season started based on what I'm seeing online.

Boozer’s gonna be plug and play like Kon.

Boozer is not a generational prospect, however. Good for the Wiz or Jazz or anyone else ready to level up. But he’s not turning a franchise around completely the way that AJ will be able to.

Never take school measurements at face value. Rutgers listed ace Bailey at 6”10 all year, and he measured out at 6’8” at the combine.

Reminds me a bit of Kawhi the way he uses his physically to get to where he wants to go on the floor then put his body into the defender before elevating to get the jumper off.

Feels like Peterson and AJD games will translate to the NBA better than Boozer.

Pierce with more height is an intriguing as hell prospect. Kawhi makes sense as described until the defense. He is really physical for a wing.

IMO, AJ, Mikal, Peterson are top-3, with Boozer just missing top tier and heading up second best where several euro and international prospects reside until separation or regression occurs.

I’d have Koa in third tier, probably 12-18 range as most likely unless he flashes more consistency or a potential perimeter shot.

He's a SRP candidate for me. His 3PT shooting isn't there, but he did hit 82% of his FT last year

Bummed this kid will never be a Spur tbh. He'd be such a seemless fit beside Wemby and would improve our defense exponentially. He's shooting 40% from 3 this season too (on low volume though — only 1 3PTA per game).

Depending on need, he should be first big off the board, possibly 2 or 3. I’m slightly concerned about Peterson. Not sure if this is a Shaedon Sharpe/Kentucky play where his stock is high so he pulls himself out. Or if legit injury.

Kansas has lost two games they shouldn’t have and one is because Peterson wasn’t playing.

Wilson is legit. Hate seeing he and Henri Veesaar frontcourt knowing Henri was a Wildcat for 3 years. Amazing versatility.

Another potential Biyombo (and future Kornet) replacement is 19 year-old Sophomore Patrick Ngongba II. 6'11 250 lb Center for Duke who's currently averaging 12 Pts / 7 Rbs / 2.5 Asts / 1.4 Blks per game on 63% from the field. Has the size and physique to play in the NBA right away. He's a developing player offensively who shows some back-to-the-basket game while also getting lobs and put-backs off of Offensive Rebounds. He's also a very good passer already at the top of the key. Intriguing prospect who's currently projected to go in the mid-high teens (if he declares). Not sure ATL will finish with a high enough pick for us to be in range, but definitely a player to keep an eye on.

One more deep cut prospect who isn't on Tankathon's 2 round current draft board to keep an eye on:

I mentioned Alvaro Folgueiras just in passing last year when he was at RMU, but he's since moved up to Big 10 competition and is playing with projected lottery pick Bennett Stirz. He looks sort of unathletic and slow, but had a nice combination of AST/stocks/OREB + shooting signal and frame to make him moderately interesting. He's played a cupcake 5 game schedule at Iowa, but it looks like his numbers continue to hold up - high level STL%, shooting 53% from 3 while hitting 5 3PM/100, and averaging > 3 AST/game with 0(!) turnovers in 5 games. 6'9", nicknamed "the octopus" due to a 7'6" wingspan, he's flashed a nice no-dip 3 which looks smooth so far this year. If his numbers don't dip too far in conference play, he's definitely a guy to keep an eye on who might outperform his draft position.

He's about like last year. Shooting between 42.9% and 57% from 3 depending on if you're looking at liga or euroleague. Same weakness judging by the eye test. I haven't really looked at his defensive advanced stats.
