I was going to post in the main Wemby thread but thought this deserved is own - mainly because:
  • Despite how good the team had been without Wemby, his sustained long-term health is the one thing that is a must for this team to become the perennial contenders they have the potential to be.
  • Wemby's unique physique undoubtedly leaves him now susceptible to injury from plays such as a lower body collision / trip/off -balance shove
  • It's looking like it might become more of a recurrence now, with serious teams playing serious games against the Spurs - the stakes are higher
  • Frankly, the last two games pissed me off with 'Dirty' Lu Dort showing multiple times what kind of a play could be a season/potential dynasty-ending moment could look like for this young team
I Mostly think the biggest obstacle that prevents multiple Wemby-led titles is getting Zaza'd, so I think it's worth keeping track of these players, incidents and ideas about what can be done to protect our prized alien.

Don't forget -- Wemby dishes it out too.
When has Wemby been malicious? All he does is get fouled constantly and get kneed in the legs, tripped, hacked, etc. Wemby's blocks are all clean and he plays clean. Talking smack isn't malicious or reckless.

I'm not disapproving.

I'm approving.

But if you want an example of a hard foul, look at what Wemby did to Holmgren to send him to the line (right before his celebration of the miss).

Wemby has not been targeted. Podz is a child who just sprays when he’s grumpy.

Dort is a huge bitch and acts like a bitch to everyone in the league.

There’s no real trend here. But Dort should have multiple suspensions by now and it doesn’t make a lot of sense that nobody has elbowed him in the face.
