What's with all the calf injuries?

Where did you get this info from? What about Dame, though? Didn't he have a calf issue before he tore his Achilles? I don't know if he was listed with a calf strain, but I seem to remember he was having calf problems.
And Durant on the Warriors, and Tatum last year?

Didn't he tweak it in the GS game when Pods clumsy ass caused them to get tangled up. Honestly, I am sick of these GS bastards taking out the wheels of our starters players.

Fuck GS

Anyone looked at the shoe brands of these players yet?

I don’t think it’s the shoes. In today’s game, players cover way more ground each game than in the past.

A quick AI search gives me this:

Nike is certainly happy that people like you exist.

Lakers January schedule is ridiculously easy. I hope they lose a lot.

LA only sat Reeves out for a week. Perhaps a conservative approach is a most prudent move after all.

Reinjury? Same calf?
Apparently this is a separate injury:

"Reaves recently missed three games because of a mild calf strain in his left leg -- a separate injury from the one he sustained Christmas Day in the first half of L.A.'s 119-96 loss to the Houston Rockets, sources told ESPN."

Seen what happened with Reaves (calf) and Jalen Green (hamstring)-- both got rushed back, reaggravated their respective injuries and will be out longer-- maybe we should learn to trust our medical staff as frustrating as it can be from a fan experience standpoint.. Extra caution bordering on paranoia will make you eat few extra regular season Ls, but it pays off in the big picture.

Except, like the refs calling the second foul in a sequence, the second injury often occurs from an athlete compensating for the first one, particularly if it's not completely healed when they return to competition.

When I had the MRI on my right knee the doctor said, "Does your left knee hurt?" And when I said yes he told me to stop walking funny and both my knees would heal up on their own.

And did they....and in what time frame...and for what performance level?

Yes it did. Once he said I wouldn't make it worse by working it I got it strengthened back up pretty quickly and I've been fine ever since. Slow white guy level.

The doc who looked at my knee was the knee guy for the pro athletes in the metroplex. My experience matches up perfectly with your post which is the only reason I posted my experience.

Thanks for sharing. My experience coaching travel soccer was that players with hip, leg, and ankle injuries whose parents pushed them to "get back in the game and gut it out" ended up being hobbled for longer periods than those who rested and healed.

The only player we had with a knee injury had it happen on the HS JV team in practice on the opposite leg from his ankle sprain that I'd been limiting his practice and game time for.

Yeah gutting out a real injury is madness. Once the doc told me there was no structural damage and I wouldn't make it worse exercising it I was good.

The problem is that whatever is causing these injuries is still a mystery. I'd damn sure be nursing my players back from a calf injury.
