Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

Wemby getting the MVP is completely contingent on winning the West IMO. I have a hard time believing that if the Spurs win the West they can deny him the award after beating the shit out of SGA's team and Cade's team all year.
Yeah I think the MVP is a two man race between SGA and Victor and whoever gets the 1 seed in the West is MVP. Unless one doesn't make 65 games, in which case the other is MVP.

Wemby has played 38 mpg 6 times in his career.

6.
Now you're fixating on one thing from the entire post and taking it out of context.
I said he could play 38mpg if he was a one-way player like most other stars. I never said he could play 38 with the intensity he's showing on both ends. But apparently my post was too difficult to read properly, ffs.

Look man, I broken it down for you succinctly above. If you don't understand it, that's fine, but going back and forth on this shit isn't going to change that. And if you do and you disagree, that's fine too. I honestly DGAF at this point.

You didn't break down shit, you just went into another one of your whataboutism rants and are deflecting after you got called out for completely missing the point.
Have a nice day.

None of us know the future and if Wemby plays a long time I will be happy as hell. Y'all can tell me how wrong I was the way Scott loves to tell me how wrong I was about Keldon making an ASG (although if he somehow does make one then I don't know what Scott will have - probably old USMNT takes) but what you can't say is that I'm just being irrational about a man who is 7'5", cannot play sustained minutes at a young age, and has had DVT.

That's why it is important to surround him with players who can help him. We don't really have a starting PF, i.e., a tall player who can box out, rebound, defend other bigs meaning taking some of the defensive load from Wemby. Wemby is spending a lof of his energy in defense limiting his offense and/or his minutes. I don't think that Wemby has to play 38 minutes/game on average, I think that he can play 32-33 minutes and taking some games off once in a while.

I still respect game and he's a hell of a defender. Plus I was glad to see him succeeding in Phoenix so he didn't end up getting traded to OKC, which was my fear initially seeing a high end defender mid career traded to what we all figured would be a deep lottery team.

Oh my God, if he was on OKC...

Most of the super tall guys with short careers, Manute Bol excepted, were virtual Frankenstein monsters, huge dudes built nothing like Wemby.

I’m also not worried about the DVT. Bosh is the boogeyman, but there have been enough guys come back, not just Ausar, but Brandon Ingram, too, that a good outcome is not only possible, but likely. Bosh was the only one with Lung clots, something n9ne of the other three that I’m aware of had.

Hopefully this 65 game minimum threshold to qualify for awards nonsense is abolished in short order and they address the lack of front court depth in the off season, so as to be able to give him the occasional game off next season and beyond.

He's probably not ever going to be suited to playing 20-30+ consecutive games, especially with as much travel and condensed as this one has been and remains going forward.

I definitely agree with that. I think getting another starting big, or even another one to absorb minutes and all that contact. Of course every team has areas of improvement but maybe we're just getting greedy lol
