Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

The head-to-head matchups of Wemby and Jokic could go a long way toward clarifying MVP ranking. I look forward to these games starting next Thursday. I still have a feeling MVP is Shai’s to lose.

Doubt it. They've already been already ramping his minutes up a bit the last few games even before the Pistons game.

He'll usually check out at the 7 minute mark of the 1st and I think it was the Raptors game where he was subbed at out like 4-5 minute mark.

I think it's a purposeful effort to get him ramped up for the playoffs which is great.

I could see him sitting out the b2b at Sacramento and/or LA once they feel pretty good about him hitting the 65 game mark tbh.

I don’t think they’re sitting him purely for rest from here on out tbh (unless we get to like game 81 or 82 and he’s already hit the threshold).

I think Wemby knows that he’s a lock for DPOTY and in the hunt for MVP if he finishes strong from here on out, and he wants those accolades. Can’t afford to miss random games for rest…never know if an actual minor injury is going to pop up where you’d actually want to sit for a game or two.

I believe Victor has a shot but realistically I think this is not the year yet. I believe if he does get to 65 games, he will win DPOY and be 1st team All-NBA.

But it's already a big step forward to establish himself firmly in that conversation, which he is currently doing. Let's hope we can sustain greatness over the years like we did in the TD era. When that happens, several MVP trophies will undoubtedly follow.

Unrelated, but I also hope Castle gets recognized with an All-Defensive nod this year, he deserves it and from what I'm hearing he probably will, which is awesome too.

Wemby getting the MVP is completely contingent on winning the West IMO. I have a hard time believing that if the Spurs win the West they can deny him the award after beating the shit out of SGA's team and Cade's team all year.

Wemby still 4th on the latest MVP rankings. Like i said he needs games like last night consistently. If he play like last night on these next 3 games against lac, hou and celtics im very sure he’ll surpass cade or even jokic in the mvp race.

I dont really get the idea of resting players in the regular season for playoffs. Because if you look at it, when the regular season ends there is like 5 to 6 days off before playoffs starts and during the playoffs there is no back to back games, there is atleast a day off between games and sometimes 2 day off between games. So the fact is there is plenty of time to rest for the playoffs even if a player is playing heavy minutes in the regular season.

Man, I've thought for awhile that we're not likely to get 15 years out of Wemby and after tonight I feel that stronger than ever. Spurs need to maximize the next few years, because I don't think the window with Wemby is going to be open long. There's a reason that no one his size has ever had a long career, and if he was exhuasted early tonight then yeah. Special talent with GOAT potential but I don't think we're going to see it for a decade.

I've thought the same. His heart must be taking a beating every time he's out there TBH. I think he does get to 10 seasons though, max TBH
