Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

Another, older protocol developed at UMichigan for quick, in-game assessments of players: "the hockey stick drop test".

Somewhere, it or a Gemini summary makes the point that concussed athletes' reflex responses are about 15% slower than their baseline. That delayed response time, along with balance problems, and cognitive processing slowdowns are where the dangers lie for an athlete in returning to play.

I don't really understand how a multi-billion dollar company like the NBA doesn't have easily well established practices for being able to determine neurological baselines and quickly determine if someone is okay.

I don’t know if we have any objective proof their protocols didn’t work in this instance. We have Wembys pov but he’s far from an impartial observer tbh.

That turnaround two-handed block on Williams was something else. It's practically 6 on 5 on every defensive possession when Victor is locked in like he was in the second half last night.

absolutely hilarious play by wemby. i did not catch this live
Amazing. I guess this is legal? If Castle wasn't expecting that he was likely very confused at why it was happening. This looks like the kind of thing Victor thought up on the fly, though maybe they really did talk about it or even practiced it.
