Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I think if we win Game 3, Wemby rests for Game 4 as well.

If we loose Game 3, he might play Game4 which is again a tough one considering the pressure and lack of practice.

By any cost win Game 3… come on guys
and when are you people going to learn the difference between lose (like "I hope the Spurs don't lose game 3") and loose (like "your girlfriend's pussy is really loose")?

Either he’s healthy or not….that he’s traveling with the team means he’s gonna play game 4
I agree I’d be shocked if he’s playing on Friday. But I think he probably will play on Sunday. They need to do their job on Friday without him. More than capable of winning that game. And on Sunday, we could really put them in a huge hole.

I really want them to try to get him ready for Friday even if it’s a limited role/minutes. Keep those assholes on their heels

For people interested in how they measure symptoms, this is the standard for amateur athletes, I'm sure pro athletes do the same thing: https://impactconcussion.com/

Here's the AI overview from Gemini, for what it's worth.

A concussion baseline test is a pre-season,, neurocognitive assessment that documents an athlete’s healthy brain function—including memory, processing speed, and reaction time—to compare against if a concussion occurs. Typically 20-30 minute computer-based tests, such as ImPACT, are used for individuals ages 12–59, ideally repeated every 1-2 years to aid in safe return-to-play decisions.

How the Test is Performed and What it Measures
  • Computerized Testing: Most often done using tools like ImPACT, which measure verbal memory, visual memory, reaction time, and impulse control.
  • Physical/Balance Testing: Some assessments include balance screenings, such as the 5-minute BioSway test.
  • Modules: The test involves tasks like recalling word lists, identifying shapes, and matching symbols.
  • Where to Test: These can be done at home online or in a clinical setting with a professional.

Target Age Range and Frequency
  • Age Range: Generally recommended for anyone at risk for concussions, usually athletes ages 12 and older (or age 5+ for pediatric-specific tests).
  • Frequency: Experts recommend repeating the test every one to two years to ensure the data reflects the athlete’s current, growing brain.

How to Interpret Results
  • Post-Injury Comparison: If a concussion occurs, a healthcare professional administers a post-injury test and compares it to the baseline.
  • Management: Results help doctors identify the severity of the injury, identify which brain systems are affected, and determine when an athlete is safe to return to play, rather than just relying on symptoms.
  • No "Passing" Grade: A baseline test cannot be "passed" or "failed"; it only sets a personal benchmark.

Key Takeaways
  • Timing: Should be taken before the start of the sports season.
  • Validity: Tests are most accurate when taken in a controlled, supervised environment.
  • Purpose: The goal is to provide a "normal" neurological snapshot.

Yeah I mean if he is ready play him 20-25 min. Just defend and rebound down the stretch would be huge.. Regardless Fox and Steph have to play great..

tbh I hope the coaches or Wemby has some counter for defender pulling the chairs...

I am sure other teams are watching and the smaller players guarding Wemby will receive this pulling chairs move in the scouting report.

Personally, I don't think pulling the chair move is dirty as it is just a strategy to use the offensive players momentum and blindspot against themselves.
He just has to pull up and do a mid range jumper over someone who is 14" shorter than him.

This is 100% dead on and a great post. I agree with everything you just said. I hope when he hits the age 23 season he’s made some adjustments to his game in this regard. Look at Giannis. He’ll be entering his age 32 season, but his overly physical style of play that had no finesse to it has completely broken down his body. And Victor certainly doesn’t do that all the time, but there is enough of the reckless plays sprinkled in that it’s getting him hurt. The more I rewatch that play last night I just can’t understand what he’s thinking? You have the finesse and the stroke to simply rise above that small defender and get any shot you want at any time. And Mitch and his coaching staff need to start freeing him up offensively. He can’t be going one on one all the time just trying to make it happen.
"what would Jamal Crawford do?"
:vic-cheers:

Should Mitch have him come off the bench to screw up Portland's rotations? It seemed to work back in December iirc

If Victor does play on Friday No Doubt, it will be in a limited capacity. Limited minutes, focus on defending and crashing the glass. The rest will be up to our guards. Step up.

If he’s cleared concussion protocol there’s no reason at all for him to be on limited minutes or any kind of restriction.
