Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

Would love to see Shai get the MVP trophy on Game 1 of facing us in the WCF. As if Wemby needs more motivation vs OKC.
Along the same lines, I am hoping the league develops an MVP Runner-Up Trophy, which they present to Joker on Game 1 of facing us in the WCSF. Keep poking that bear.

Im definitely expecting rust and jitters from the team, and for shots that went down in regular season to not fall as often. It’s the way this always goes.
But but but. They just came from a week off , they a well rested. Tbh

Very excited to see Wemby’s playoff debut tonight. All the regular season numbers and “First player to record XYZ in under 30 minutes!” stat lines are great, but ultimately his pursuit of GOAT status starts tonight.

I’m expecting him to be extremely aggressive, possibly even to a fault for the first quarter or two while he’s working out the jitters. But once he gets settled in I’m pretty damn confident he’s going to be one of those guys who becomes known for turning it up a notch come playoff time.

I'm secretly hoping Wemby doesn't win MVP and isn't the unanimous DPOY just to see him go supernova on everyone.

I suspect the few times he was in pain tonight it was the rib(s). He’s obviously going to play though it now that it’s the playoffs

That quote on TD and DRob was beautiful tbh
What was the quotes from those guys?
Never in doubt with this kid
I mean, TD was great in his first playoff game, so if you think Victor is just as great (which we all do), then you'd expect this. Still, pretty wild, though. What jitters? He did shoot well from three and the Spurs needed that.
Something another poster said also made me think about TD's age in his playoff debut, so I went and checked, and TD was a bit younger when he set the Spurs' playoff debut points record before Vic beat it. I still kept thinking TD was older due to 4 years of college, but then I also forget the Spurs weren't in the playoffs the past two seasons.

He was asked if he felt the weight of the pressure of TD and DRob’s legacies and being there in attendance. He said it’s not weight, rather he feels that if he falls, there are many hands to help him up.

He articulated it better tbh

Nice to see that even Timmy was making an appearance to take in Wemby's Playoff debut. Duncan is usually not at many games, is he?
