Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I don't understand why the coaching staff hasn't fixed this yet. There's just no reason to be playing Josh fucking Giddey so far up the 3pt line. Heck, even if it was Curry, there's no reason for Wemby to press up so much. With his length, he should just give a cushion, he's gonna provide a good contest either way.
It was Buzelis, but the point still remains.

I don't think it is a jab at Victor.. just the standard way to answer this kind of question about MVP if you aren't Victor W
Watch the clip. It’s definitely a shot at Vic tbh
:st-lol:

I don’t have a problem with it. It’s a good response while still being a dig. Nice gamesmanship.

It was definitely a rage baiting attempt of the reporter, the I let my game do the talking is THE standard answer. Not sure what kind of answer he could have done that was not a jab at Victor.

27 FGA on 30minutes if play is actually a ball hog type of game lmao
The team obviously is aware of the narrative that he doesn't score enough. They're making a conscious effort of getting the ball to Wemby and letting him shoot. It's not ball hog per se, because it's coming within the flow of the offense and Wemby is getting open.

wemby travels quite a bit. i know players game the "gather step" by timing the step to exactly when they gather the ball, but im constantly seeing wemby take the first step too late, so it winds up being 3 total. like in the clip above. its close, but he tends to be late.

He went to the Giannis school of travels so obvious they don't get called

Sometimes he mistimes the gather and gets the benefit of the doubt. The clip above is not a travel, though.

A lot of players get away with traveling constantly. I swear every stepback three is three or more steps (1st foot establishes a pivot, then there are two or even three more steps as the player sidesteps or shuffles into shooting position).

the clip above looks like a clear travel to me. he gathers it (gets second hand on the ball, so its not ambiguous) before the right foot comes down, so that would be step 1, not a gather step. then he goes left foot right foot and goes up, so imo thats a travel even with the modern interpretation of the gather step

read some stat that he hasnt missed a FGA in the 4th quarter for 2 weeks or something crazy like that

the foulbaiting part of his game is obviously shit but the guy doesnt miss. 55% from the field for a guard is nuts, at that volume too. 28% of his FGA come between 10-16 feet, and he is making 58% of those. and then he's making over 50% from between 16ft to 3pt line. madness tbh. his turnovers are very low as well.

a lot of OKC's offense this year has just been "give the ball to SGA and hope he makes it work"... and things tend to go well for them

he plays like a fucking fairy and I can’t wait for the spurs to shut the door on this fake ass dynasty

I'm simply not seeing it. I could be blinded by homerism though, so there's that lol
