Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I know some people here are rooting hard for Wemby to get MVP and will be pretty disappointed/annoyed/etc. if he ends up losing out…but we really need to take a step back and realize how fucking insane it is that he’s even seriously in the conversation.

Wemby in his 3rd season at 21/22 years old is being compared and at least widely considered to be in the same league as SGA and Jokic. I know people like to hate on SGA, but he’s having yet another all-time great season that would make him a clear MVP winner in a lot of years. Jokic is probably somewhat the victim of voter fatigue: what he’s doing this year is truly absurd and you could argue this is his most impressive season yet from a statistical standpoint.

The fact that we’re even having these discussions is unreal, and I can only imagine what we might be witnessing in 2-3 years as Wemby starts to hit his prime.
I'm rooting for Wemby to lose the MVP award to SGA and for the award ceremony to be Game 1 of the WCF and it drives Wemby to one of those most dominating performances we've ever seen in a sweep.

Titles > MVPs

These are the types of games we’ll need to be seeing from here on out if Wemby wants MVP tbh. I’m not trying to underscore just how impactful Wemby can be in those games where he scores sub-25 points, but there’s no denying that scoring carries the most weight in voters’ eyes. Nights like tonight completely crush any narratives about Wemby not being good enough on offense to win MVP.

Needs to do this every game tbh.

Lob after lob after lob. It looks so simple. I wonder how much of it is the Bulls just being straight ass vs teammates looking for Wemby a lot more than at the begining of the season.

Bulls didn't have a C active tonight.

But everybody has gotten better at finding him. A big part of it is Vic has obviously gotten stronger and is getting better position near the rim, not getting pushed off as easily tbh.

yup, if he performs at this level offensively for the next four tough games - he has a great shot at it.
