Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I’m attending today’s game with my son for his first time so hopefully Wemby plays
That's pretty cool man. Enjoy the moment with him I saw Wemby for the first time last season in Orlando and it was a dope to see him in person. I had plans to take my family to see him play this year when the Spurs played the Magic but of course he was injured at the time. I believe he'll play this game though.

Spurs are dumb in that regard if they believe players don't care about winning accolades.
This is one of the strangest myths that keeps being told by Spursfans with zero basis to support it. The Spurs, as far as public knowledge goes?, have never actively hampered one of their own players' chances of winning an accolade - on the contrary, have done whatever possible for their players to get them (that story about DRob's 70 point game to earn the Scoring Title at the very last game of the season comes to mind).

And onto recent history, they've always been complimentary when one of the Spurs have made All-Star teams, and held a "surprise event" to present Castle with his ROY trophy and spoke highly about him. Nobody looked pissed that he won it or anything.

So really, where is this "belief" coming from other than fans' own fears that the Spurs org hasn't "gotten over themselves", tbh? It's very irrational. I don't for a second believe that Wright or Buford are actively holding Wemby out of games for him to miss that DPOY, for example, and everyone looked elated at his All-Star selection, and Fox's too.
