Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

for some reason, our boy is not getting any burn n the Knicks, even down 20 to the Cavs.. only 2 min? what gives?

Dudes left hand is destroying that shot. If you’re going to shoot with both hands like that you have keep both wrists from twisting

Yeah, I'm not sure why he is doing that; it is almost like an overcorrection to prevent side spin on the release.

Watching this, I can’t help but think Mitch saw this continuously in practice and it became one of the key reasons why he was out of his rotation in the first place.

For Sochan, being out of the rotation messed with his head, which wiped out his confidence and affected his play, which led to Mitch solidifying his decision to keep him out of the rotation in the first place, in a vicious circle.

If you can’t hit open shots in practice how can you be relied on? Like imagine as a coach seeing that broken ass shot in practice and all those bricks day after day and then that player had the gall to complain about opportunity.

One thing I will give Mitch credit for is realizing we aren’t running a charity for a make a wish shooter. All Sochan has to do to get playing time was to learn how to make that shot. Dude had 4 years to do it too.

Part of the reason why FRPs fail so much is bc they’ve never had to struggle. I really hope Sochan stops the whining on social media and puts his head down and embraces the opportunity to struggle from a basketball perspective. You have some dudes (like McCants) who have all the talent in the world but no introspection or self awareness and he lasted 4 years in the league. While less talented players like Danny Green last 15 seasons on the league’s they worked their ass off every day in practice and in the offseason. Sochan is on his way out of the league. And as a Spurs fan that makes me sad bc he isn’t a bad kid and believe it or not we all want youth to succeed and overcome.
