Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

You're still missing the point, go read my post again...

All it shows is that those "data" were either misinterpreted or overrated. They're only part of the picture and the rest of it clearly wasn't taken enough into account regarding Sochan.

He was the same and maybe worse in college in terms of work ethic, bbiq, poise etc but it was either ignored or diminished because "look at the data!!!" LMAO

There's a reason a redraft of that year doesn't put him close to the first 30 picks
Oh wow. Really. Who are the 30 players from that draft you put over sochan? I am said to have pretty good body language, maybe I could be drafted ahead of him in a redraft.

Either you consciously put words in my mouth I never said or you have real comprehension and reading issues to fix.

Never said stats are useless...

Try again.
So … it goes back to it, when and how do YOU use stats? And what is it that I’m doing that is wrong in interpreting stats?

It’s sort of comical how listing out traditional stats is somehow interpreted as a smoking gun and yet, you had provided ….. nothing. Oh sorry, my bad, you mentioned he had bad body language and have insider information about his work habits and mental fortitude. Not only that, you noticed at least 30 players drafted that year who had better body language, mental fortitude and work habits than him too. I’d be shocked if you are not a pro scout because normal fans like us just don’t have that type of access.

Kudos.

Nope, not "when and how..."

Are you retarded, or it's just your ego?

Ok I give you another shot, go read my post and try again...

My bad. Glanced over it and missed that. However, I’m still waiting for a list of 60 players you’d draft over sochan that year based on what has already happened and what is projected to happen.

If you believe him to not be an NBA player, then this is a silly question. Pick any 60. It doesn’t matter. He’s still not supposed to be in this league. But height and hair dye said otherwise.

This isn’t a point about wright. It’s about how some of us recognized quickly that he didn’t belong in the league and had to wait a few years for all of these advanced stats to turn into pumpkins - and that these stats were always fools gold, and this isn’t a new thing, where he doesn’t belong on the court.

It’s not much of a point, I admit. Just didn’t enjoy this experience of taking crazy pills for so long.

Except you were talking about using stats to gauge the potential of a draft prospect while I listed those stats to say sochan produced the last 3 years better than most of the stated players.

Although statistically Scott pointed out he’s performed in the number 9 range.

To me, it feels like Jeremy hasn't really been given a chance this season to prove himself. He worked all summer on his game and his jump shot, but because he was injured at the start of the season, he was on the outside of the rotation looking in and hasn't really been given the chance to showcase his improvement.

It also hasn't helped him that the team has been on a tear and that there hasn't really been a reason to change things up.
Sochan has been given 3 and a half years of chances. Most players have to earn their way to get into a team's rotation but Sochan was gifted starters minutes from the start.

He was given a starting role on a team that didn't care to win so there was no pressure on him. He was put at PG for 18 games and filled in a few games at times at center and that has been the main excuse why he hasn't shown improvement into his fourth year. Those were great opportunities for Sochan to work on various aspects of his game but he didn't rise to those opportunities.

Do other teams draft bad players and play them and extend them? Sure, weve known for some time wed be pushing out players who aren't good enough. This is nothing about sochan and more about building around wemby.

Could you even imagine playing with wemby?. Hes on the baseline,. Hes shooting threes, now hes a center hunting blocks. Its chaos!. You never know whqt wemby yr getting. Wemby is thriving with vets mostly.

The Spurs tried to play Jetemy at every position. He played PF, PG, C, SF and still couldn‘t carve out a role. It‘s over.
Damn never thought about it this way :st-lol:

Most players only get to play 1 role and if they fail it's over for them we let this temu as dude play every position that don't have the word shooting in it and he was ass at all of them:st-lol:

that’s a fever dream of a tweet lol. State run media is better to listen to when the team is winning but they’re gonna cling onto this dude as long as they have a pulse.
What's wrong with the tweet? He's giving Socham credit for handling this professionally is all. Why would you want a coach to shit on an asset anyway? That helps no one. Jeremy will be an NBA player somewhere but he just doesn't fit on this team.

What could we get for Jeremy?

Since he can't find the floor even in garbage time, he is deep in the doghouse. He is a very good defender, but quite subpar on offense. At least he has an expiring contract.

He's an above average defender for today's era but he's not in the category of someone like a Trick-Or-Treat Tony Allen, AC Green or Bruce Bowen who could stay on the court for his defense alone. Charles Oakley, Reggie Evans, Trent Hassell, I could name more. I don't even know if that kind of a player has a job in today's NBA, tbh, sadly.
