can you even get vet min on restricted free agency? i assume so team will throw money at him and we wont match, or the spurs will match . not like big money, but he could thrive in a lower stake team so hes worth non starter money

A player enters RFA when his team doesn't offer him a contract.
Then everyone else is available to offer him one.
If he accepts, his team can match it or let him go.
If he doesn't, Spurs can give him a qualifying offer. Cheap, one year deal.

There is also the scenario like what happened with Lonnie... the Spurs just simply rescind (or don't offer) the QO, and the player immediately becomes a UFA. This is because the QO creates a hold against cap space, so the team can open up space by letting go of their RFA rights if they have no intention on bringing the player back.

I think it was just a coincidence,, but Lonnie signed with LAL for the taxpayer MLE, which was around where his QO would have been.

I feel this way to. There is no way Sochan could have turned down any offers with the moves we made this off season and the coaches we brought in. We brought in Kornet to play backup 5 and Kelly to play backup 4 and 5. Barnes can pretty much only play the 4 now due to age. Then we got two more shoot first guards and Harper and Waters so they not going to be looking for you, as well as 1 of our 2 shoot first wing players Keldon or Devin, coming off the bench. Not sure why Jeremy would ever touch the ball on this team. He is only playing now when a big is hurt and we literally tried playing Bismack before letting Jeremy play small ball 5.

Then you add to that the fact that Sweeney and Corliss are serious assistant coaches who are here to advance their careers by winning and here to do exactly nothing else. They are not going to dick around with a player who can't help the team win so neither will want to give Jeremy minutes to baby him and "bring him along" and "see how he's grown". Only players who have a role play because that is what happens on teams trying to win something other than the lottery.

If we can get two seconds for him I would be ecstatic since they could be used to put us over the top of any deal. Other than that he probably just walks for nothing.

That whole 2022 draft class went up in smoke. We'd be the bleakest team in the history of the nba if we ended up with Scoot or Miller instead of Victor. Most GM's don't survive whiffing on 3 1st round picks let alone 3 in one draft.

Sochan was great last year too when Wemby's gravity was drawing whole lot of attention.

This year is simply a disaster for Sochan. Keldon basically filled in to do what he was supposed to do on offence, rebounds, cut to the basket, and shoot the occasional three. Not sure how his defence can drop off that much this year.
