wtf houston lost yesterday? :st-lol:

i was exhausted and knocked out early. last thing i remembered was the Naz offensive foul in OT then getting the technical. rockets were up 6 and had the momentum and i called it a night

turns out they were up THIRTEEN in OT and managed to lose? croflmao

Their OT collapse started when Jabari Smith Jr. missed a wide open corner 3 that led to a transition and-1 basket for Minnesota. If he makes that shot, Houston wins tbh. But he clanked it and they never scored another point after that with 3 minutes left :st-lol:. Not an excuse to lose obv, but that was the play that started the domino effect.

its funny that all of our bracket-watching of wanting the lakers/rockets as 3/6 is completey predicated on accepting our fate as the 2 seed. if we overtake OKC for 1, suddenly we are looking at a second round matchup against the winner of Denver/Minny

If we're trying to get to WCF, it's probably bette to be the 2nd seed.
If we're trying to get to win the championship, it's better to be the 1st seed.

There was north of 10 seconds left on the shot clock as well. With how diminished Minny was they should've been milking clock tbh.

KD really is the problem isn't he. Warriors won a title when he left. Suns got better when he left. Rockets got worse with him (yes I know FVV and Adams are out). Kinda glad we dodged that bullet tbh

FVV was a crippling loss to them. all season the story has been that their offense has been out of synch, which tends to happen when you dont have good point guard play (we've seen that firsthand). we've also heard about how sengun/amen cause spacing issues, while FVV is one of the better volume 3pt shooting PGs, who also plays good defense.

with their offense as bad as it was, their saving grace was dominating the offensive glass, which is much harder to do now without Adams.

not that i'm saying the'd necessarily be a juggernaut with everybody healthy, but right now there's just a lot of dysfunction

no, not really.. i was one of the few mocking them for signing him up, but it is very obvious that their guard situation is atrocious. Perhaps they would be better of to have him come off the bench and play sengun as their alpha and fill up with talentless defenders, but either way they will have to face that reed is a bust.

Virtually any NBA contending team that took KD for this season should only use him as 6th - 8th man off bench.
He is simply no longer near elite, esp on D.
And his bitchmade personality has reared it's head yet again this season. That is 80% of his problem.
He should not be a main cog anywhere.

He was fab in leading Nets to defeat to prime Greek Freak. That was an impressive 7 game series. Durbetta has only eroded since then.

They couldn't be more scared, tbh, they know those regular season wins they've racked up mean jack shit compared to getting plastered by their top-rival WC team 4 times out of 5.

I feel like SGA is most aware of this, he was saying this stuff months ago - "We have to get better as a group. You don’t lose to a team three times in a row in a short span without them being better than you. We have to get better. Look in the mirror, and that’s everybody from top to bottom, if we want to reach our ultimate goal”.

Who really believes that OKC got better in the last 3 months over how much the Spurs have gotten even better in that same timeframe? Now they've lost to Boston with a healthy J-Dub.... While we beat Boston at their own game, out-shooting them :st-lol:

The momentum is palpable. :st-hungry:
We beat Boston minus 3-4 of their rotation player

We are playing better than the Thunder. We've gained 4 games on them since they were 24-1... the 4 we beat them.

Over the last 50 games we lead them in point differential. (which is the highest correlation to playoff success of any stat)

They ran up the score those first 25 games but now have to play new york, denver, detroit (sigh cade), the lakers twice, the clippers and the suns. all winnable games for them but far harder than our schedule.

This point Simmons made about no one giving a shit about Sengun's game saving block where he literally threw his face onto the floor to reach it is insane.

Yup. Thought the same when I was watching it. Dude made the play of his career and busted his mouth in the process and no one cared lol. It was weird af. They all went to the sideline and just sat in silence. The team dynamic over there is cooked. And KD being exposed for talking shit about his own teammates on his Twitter burner 100% has something to do with it. They haven't been he same since that happened.

Conspiracy Bill’s hit rate on body language is usually pretty spotty. It was a great play but lack of reaction is probably mostly relief after f’n up the inbounds. Reactions were fine after Thompson tipped in the game winner the other day.

I do agree though that the overall vibes are shit. Turns out professional athletes don’t respond well when they’re veteran leader calls them retards in group chats like some 15yo high schooler. Or when their head coach is challenging their manhood every other game tbh.
