News The Official Check Here Before Asking About Injury Return Dates Thread

I think for durability, you either have it or you don't. I don't believe anyone expected Wemby to be an iron man given his unique body. We signed up for a a healthy season essentially meaning him playing somewhere between 68-72 games instead of 76-82 games. We got that in his rookie season; last year was freak and rare occurrence, but definitely this one is not projected to be one. Just hope he makes the 65-game cut to be awards-eligible, but it is not looking good (10 games missed already and we barely in 1st week of Dec)...
Also why it's foolish to trade for Giannis if Harper is involved. Currently, Victor isn't durable, we don't even know if he will have a long lasting career sadly.

Which also a vindication of the logic of the Fox trade. Can you imagine our record (7-3) in last 10 games with a replacement-level player instead of Fox in the lineup? that's an easy 1-9 (the win being the Kings game) if you look at how the games played out.. As a result, the team would crater back to play-in zone or barely outside of it..

Jeff McD says Wemby out on Monday and "iffy" for the cup game, Castle has not yet been ruled out for tomorrow

It only make sense. I hope they don't re-injure themselves fighting over the gumbo. In New Orleans there's enough for everyone! 'Yeah you right, you better hurry up and know it!'

I understand the caution but im not sure how the league is going to sustain itself if players now are going to be staying out for a month or 2 for every minor injury like strains and such.

Strains will always be a thing especially in basketball. It seems the league might have a problem brewing here.

Wasn’t this so-called “Insider” (are they still cranking out that tragic SPURS INSIDER PODCAST?) just days ago declaring, with all the confidence of a magic 8-ball, NOT TO EXPECT WEMBY or CASTLE back because of his “sources”? What a JOKE local Journalist are. State Sponsored POPoganda. POPvda

Found it... SEMI INFORMED

MONEY FOR NOTHING....as the Lyric goes.

Can't wait for the next journalist asking Vic if he needs to readjust his ambitions and how he feels about maybe never be able to get a DPOY or AllNBA selection.

Yeah our local Spurs guys are trash tbh this is well known

Is Wemby really going to get thrown into playoffs-type of game after 25 days off? I just don't see it unless he is on minutes restriction.

Why wouldn't he? If he's ready, let him play. It's not like we're dealing with Kawhi, who's a punk bitch fuck ass quitter.

Was thinking about this as well, coupled with how we've been operating under the assumption that Harper has been on a minutes restriction... but I'm not sure he is.

Harper was playing anywhere from 22-29 mpg before his injury, and anywhere from 15-23 since returning. But his pre-injury minutes were all while Fox was out, opening more minutes at the PG position. I'm not so sure Harper is on a minutes restriction... I think this is just Mitch's rotation (for right or wrong).

Fox wasn't on any kind of minutes restriction when he returned. His first game back he played 31 minutes, the next two games he played 37 and 36 minutes.

Sochan's return from injury saw him play 23 minutes, which was his season high until Friday's loss v Cleveland.

I think the Spurs are perhaps taking the approach to hold guys out until they are able to return to a full workload.

With that said, it seemed like both Fox and Harper were practicing with the team longer than Wemby and Castle returning to practice today (though also to be fair, the team has been on the road).

i'll never understand these posts. why do we treat these players like fragile babies? "team needs its star player back for a big game" is hardly controversial. if he's not in game shape with his conditioning then ration his minutes, thats fine. but that should be the case whether its a game against the lakers or the jazz.

Mitch said Dylan's on a restriction and it's not his choice or something along those lines. He said he's glad it not his choice (it sounded like he'd play him more), but now you've got me questioning whether or not he's lying.

:st-popemote: „22 year olds need rest too. It wouldn‘t be fair to the other guys“

When did he say this? I don't remember this at all.
