News The Official Check Here Before Asking About Injury Return Dates Thread

Why is everyone trusting ESPN's Shams Charania saying Fox would play tomorrow.

@Splits said we're only supposed to listen to the NBA's official injury reports.

Offical NBA site says
"San Antonio Spurs NOT YET SUBMITTED"

It's damn near 3:00 PM New Orleans time. How can the Spurs get away with this?

It's in the 2:30 ET report. They have to submit by 1pm local time when on a b2b.

While it's joking regarding "Must be NBA.com source", can we nonetheless utilize only Tweeters with solid record of posting accuracy and specifically re Injury reports?
Vs click seeking spouters.

I don't follow Shams. From what i recall of his other takes his does have integrity. Or at least used to. Still does now that he's gotten big?

Thank you.

That's the entire idea of this thread. I can't remember the last time Shams misreported something. Paul Garcia is a Spurs beat writer.

Dudes like Paul Garcia are definitely legit. He's an up-and-coming New Media Spurs reporter (actually one of the better ones, just doesn't have a huge platform) and would never knowingly put out misleading or false info. Pretty much any of the local Spurs beat reporters are going to be reliable, they just aren't going to ask any tough questions of the Spurs

Is that a common thing for a calf injury? To be in a walking boot?
it helps the first two weeks but it is usually recommended for grade 3 so Harper's injury could be more serious. I had a pretty bad grade 2 on one calf and it took a long time (several months) to recover completely granted I was not an athlete and access to the top notch physical therapy Harper is getting.

To confirm - FO never publicly stated what grade Dylan’s calf strain is?
I didn't see anything, they said that he would be gone several weeks. People say that grade 1 is up to 4 weeks, grade 2 up to 8 weeks (mine was 3 months) so I doubt that he has grade 3. I'm sure that they are being extremely precautious not putting any weight on it, which would explain the boots and crutches. Calf strains are a pain in the ass.

I’m ok w the Spurs staff keeping guys out until they’re 100%, especially lower body stuff. Fox, for example, relies on his speed and quickness so much that his hamstring needs to be fully healed to play well and a recurring hammy would be a disaster. As long as Wemby is playing we have a chance to win every game and we have a deep stable of capable playmakers around him so we can afford to rotate them through injuries etc.
Harper is a similar player in that he uses sudden bursts to break down the defense. A calf injury needs to be babied for that reason alone, not to mention the correlation with Achilles injuries. I expect Harper to be out 2 months, no joke.
