Player The "It's My Time" Busted Clocktower of Devin Vassell

This isn't a flex when your critics say you're inconsistent.
Yeah, and any stat where Zach Lavine is 2nd all time... makes you wonder

Confirmed: DV reads BB forum, and sees the haters.
Nah, I'd reserve the term haters for the idiots that go at players' social media accounts and post negative comments just to heckle.

Most of us here would love for him to do well, it just so happens that some believe in him more than others.

Nah, some of us are haters. :st-lol:

It's just that haters in here argument their takes while social media people are just blind haters.

We definitely could be more supportive as a fan base but I also think it is fair to expect a lot out of 27 million and after all it is a business. Players still have to perform 100% this isn't a charity but fans need to chill and be less brutal. Most of us would not last a week in the gym at that level so let's keep some perspective here with things that are easy to type from a keyboard. I'll be the first to say if you don't fit the team's needs then pack your bags but it should not be personal unless it's like Nephew or Zaza and I think most of us here know Devin is a good guy.

Depends on who you refer as "we".
Us at this forum? Who cares, we're just watching the team play and expressing our opinions. On a way higher level than any other Spurs fan site of any sort.
It's not like any Spurs players/employees read this forum.

The players get their support during games and their time in the city.
Social media is whatever because it's a toxic cesspool for absolutely every kind of public figures, not just athletes.

As long as the atmosphere at the arena during games is good, we're good.
And Spurs fans seem to be one of the more supportive fanbases out there, I mean even Bryn Forbes was never booed. :st-lol:

I'm a "Devin Hater" but I'm very pleased he is doing well (and have been very complimentary of him all season). My hate at this point is merely token.

Yeah definitely the overall social media fanbase presence can be quite toxic to downright abusive. Not so much here specifically at BB which has a rare realistic atmosphere. And I really don't want to muzzle anyone from expression. Just noticing a general decline with comments that lack any constructive critique on aspects of a player's game and just brigading negativity. Of course then I turn around and say I hope Anthony Davis gets mauled by bears so what do I know

It’s long been coming. He’s settled to a role, not rushing shots and even playing defense
You were an original Devin believer, John B. I feel responsible for making you doubt him… mea culpa… he’s been great this year.

His defense tonight was fantastic as well.

play great man D, hit the big shots when the offense gets stagnant - this is the role we need Dev to play on a contending Spurs team.

He towered his clock all over everyone this season. He's a beast! His contract is bad? It's a steal, hell it's a fleecing of Vassell if anything. What an embarrassment of riches for the Spurs.

he's just playing very well and playing within himself

one thing that is very obvious about him is he just lacks burst with the ball in his hands, but he has been playing very smart and isnt forcing the issue offensively. and defensively we saw shades of that early career lockdown stuff

Noone is doubting his best performances, it's about him disappearing way to often.
He was at 4-20 FG in 73 minutes before the OKC game.
