Honestly, I’m going to get killed for this, but I would have given Sochan some run. He can rebound at a good clip.

I wrote it during the game. If Barnes isn't hitting any of his shots, then we might aswell play Sochan.
Mitch should've given 4th quarter Barnes minutes to Keldon, at least he would've had a couple more rebounds.

i actually told my son this, at the start of the 4th. the knicks were starting to sag off Barnes at that point so why keep him in if he can't space the floor? i think Sochan could have brought the same breath of fresh energy off the bench that clarkson and that little gnat, Kolek, brought.
 
yes, sure. like a player never misses shots for 3 quarters only to get his accuracy back in the 4th one...... Hindsight is 20/20

He’s out of the rotation for more reasons than his spacing. He can’t participate in any part of the offense, and if he ever gets the ball in his hands anywhere in the half court; it’s a win for the defense.

He’s not even able to be a spark of the bench because of how bad he is.

Hopefully get a lottery pick from Hawks and we have to take serious look at the PF position
 
It's just that he gets absolutely killed by legit PFs.
Too bad for us most potential playoff matchups have those.

Gordon, Randle, Jabari/KD, Lebron, JJJ, AD...we'd basically need him to make up for being overmatched on defense with elite shooting.
 
Should we actually consider starting Keldon next to Wemby? At least he battles on the boards and brings consistent energy.

Sochan is useless as shit, the starting 4 spot is right there for him to take but he’s just so damn bad.

He is. But I don't trust him enough to say he's worth the money he makes. I don't trust his availability or physical toughness to play games when it counts. I have no idea how he'd perform in the playoffs (he might be fine, but we haven't had a chance to see it). I wasn't all-in on a trade for him before and still wouldn't be if the opportunity presented itself.

Need his spark off the bench for the bench unit

Starting units already have enough scorers with Vic, Fox, Castle and Vassell. There is only 1 ball and hence actually we just need a long stretch 4 with rebounding & D at PF and another 3&D at SF.

Barnes and Vassell is still deemed as the better shooters than KF (although he has been hot recently) and hence they should start to complement Vic, Fox and Castle.

If possible, Spurs still can upgrade PF and SF as there are still flaws in Barnes and Vassell's game.

Barnes rebounding and D is average at best
Vassell can get hot and his D has improved. But he still is quite inconsistent and it is really irritating that he miss wide open 3s. Somehow he seems to hit contested 3s better.

If CB can develop to his full potential, he can start at either of the position.

ok but barnes is our worst defender and a worse rebounder than KJ.. it seems to me, barnes was only starting because he was the better spot up shooter and didn't need the ball to produce.. but this doesn't seem to be the case anymore, now that kj is knocking down corner 3s. Perhaps we should start questioning this

I don't know what to do in regards to trying to start Keldon or not, but all I do know is that Barnes isn't a starter going forward if this team wants to try and make a legit Championship run, I don't believe he can be a starting player for it to happen.
