Mitch need to give him consistent 18min per game tbh
Maybe not 18, but he should be getting guaranteed 10 minutes and we work from there. Give him more if he's playing well.Mitch need to give him consistent 18min per game tbh
Carter Bryant is honestly making strides rapidly. Perfect time to get him some minutes to see the speed of the NBA game, then likely send him to Austin to put things to work for much of January at a minimum.
Hell I'd say he is better than Sochan already (not that its saying a lot)
the reason is to get better at everything, rather than get better at a specific role. To me him playing means they never expect for him to develop as a ball handler or passer and rather always be the #5 option the floor. Personally, I have no issue with that.I mean, people have been saying he needs to go to Austin all season. Haven't agree with that one, especially when there is guys like Sochan on the team. There's no reason for Carter to go to Austin if guys like Jeremy are playing NBA minutes, then Carter can get minutes too. It's only a small sample size and eye test, but I already trust Carter's shot a lot more. Even Dylan has spoon fed Jeremy some great passes and he's fumbled/fucked those up too half the time.
Yeah, since he's more of a project, I can see why. The Spurs need his skill set in the NBA right now, though, so it's kind of hard to send him away to work in his game when guys like Jeremy are making mistake after mistake out there. He still has value to the team playing now rather than not letting him play at all. It also lets him go against NBA competition so he can see where he needs to improve to make in the NBA for real.the reason is to get better at everything, rather than get better at a specific role. Sochan got drafted to one of the worst teams in the league, big difference.CB is treated the way Sochan should've. It's not supposed to be easy. The struggles and frustration to get playing time is part of the recipe!
It's barely the 1st half of the season, he'll be a totally different player in a few months.
That's true, but I think PanameSpur is still saying that Sochan would have probably turned out better if he had to earn those minutes and fight for them.Sochan got drafted to one of the worst teams in the league, big difference.
If CB got drafted in 2022, he would've been at 25mpg in his rookie season.
Sure, and part of Sochan's failure is probably on the FOSochan got drafted to one of the worst teams in the league, big difference.

Getting more minutes for CB needs to happen. Spurs play the Wizards 2 out of their next 3 games, CB should be getting nice reps (20+ minutes) against bad teams but the Spurs seem to not bring the appropriate effort and execution to those games. It's obvious we'll need a big forward at PF as soon as the next season.
Bryant isn't ready, but he was drafted because he should develop into that player.
Now that the Cup is over, Mitch needs to find minutes for him, especially now that Jeremy is out of the rotation.
We're running a 9 man rotation right now, no reason to not make it 10 for the regular season.
Bryant should have 6 to 8 guaranteed minutes and we go from there. If he's making an impact, have him take some of the Barnes/Champ/Keldon PF minutes.
Playing even 10th man minutes in the NBA is more valuable than G-league, especially for someone who's projected to be a role player and excel on defense.
100% agree. Slot him in and let him get reps. He has so much potential. It's obvious we'll need a big forward at PF as soon as the next season.
