Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

Bitadaze Connaugton or Kleber would be realistic plus value trade targets for Sochan I would be interested in. Also Grant Williams if his injury return is stable ( ACL, returned mins restrictions Jan 10 2026)

Less realistic dream list would include: Sam Hauser, Dean Wade, Fontecchio, Mathiurin, Ayo Dosunmu. But I haven't looked at the numbers, malcontents etc yet and the Spurs are said to have declined Yabusele over money so I'm sure it matters.

Fascinating that Spurs upper management was allegedly seen talking to Trey’s parents for an hour. That’s not nothing if true. That long list is pretty comprehensive. Bey and Looney could be a good haul, too. Chris Boucher is a name I’d forgotten about, he might be usable. Spurs always do their due diligence, should be fun to see what happens.

Interesting if they were talking with his dad back then (Dec. 8th). Trey's absolutely gone off on us a couple of times since that chat. Might have wanted to show the Spurs what he's capable of adding to the team. I was definitely impressed. Sucks that the asking price will likely be too high.

Not that I’d do it necessarily for Giannis, just that 3 firsts for Murphy is quite absurd and most especially if he’s the 3rd or 4th option.

It depends on what 1st were talking about. 2027(atl), 2029, and 2032 isn't terrible because 29 and 32 should be late in the first round. Keep the picks with swaps...

Hard to gauge tbh, Wemby’s health is really the be all and all on these topics.

I don't disagree, but you don't avoid deals based on fear that Wemby won't have a normal career.
We criticize BWright a lot, and some are deserved but wouldnt really wanna be in his shoes right now tbh.

SCENE: THE STANDS OF SMOOTHIEKING ARENA (or whatever that place is called now). BRIAN WRIGHT SITS NEXT TO TREY MURPHY JR IN ROW 7.

MR. MURPHY: It would obviously be exciting to see my son on the team you’ve established, but it’s probably out of question for you guys at this point, right?

MR. WRIGHT: Well, your son is very talented and would look great in Silver & Black. We could definitely see him fitting in as a point guards…

MR. MURPHY: Huh?

MR. WRIGHT: That’s how everyone starts here. We turn them into a point guard, that doesn’t matter… forget I mentioned it… anyway… yeah, the price is probably a bit high but maybe there is a way. I’m going to give you the phone number to my friend Rich. He’s has a script for your son to follow. It involves demanding a trade and saying you’ll only want to play in San Antonio, but then I think we might be able to work something out….

It feels like NOLA is gonna end up holding TM3 two years two long.

Move #1: Sochan to CHI’s TE for their Top 8 protected 26FRP

Move #2: Salaries; 2 of ATL 26FRP, CHI 26FRP, or ATL 27FRP; 4 good SRPs for TM3

Move 1: if they trade us a top 8 protected, they’ll tank to keep it. They’ve proven that with our past pick from them.

Move 2: you can’t trade our 26 pick with the ATL swap attached AND the 27 ATL pick. That leaves us with no FRP in consecutive drafts.

1 has not been proven. We dont know if they would have gotten that good of a pick last year or not. It also would have been adventurous for them to tank to make their own pick better when they received it back but they still ended up with the 12th pick.

I keep seeing people post giving up so many picks for a player that will turn (said team) to automatic champions. Has this ever happened? I see it every year when these trades are made and most of the time the team getting rid of the player ends out far better off. This is the biggest reason why I am against giving up several picks for a player.

Can anyone name 3 examples of when this has worked out for a team they greatly transformed them to the championship and was not already there?

There was no incentive to tank once they had their pick back. They were 9th at that point, with little chance to get a higher position.

Your making an assumption on that. And the further they would fall the better their lottery odds would be to win the # 1 pick. In this particular instance if they would have lost one more I believe they would have had the worse record between them and dallas and had the # 1 overall pick, So they had more incentive to tank then just pushing off their pick an extra year.
