Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

I don't expect Spurs to get a quality player back for Sochan. The trade will likely be Sochan for a random expiring contract and maybe some cash to offset salaries.
Given teams interested in him, Jevon Carter, Maxi Kleber and Pat Connaughton could be the random expiring contract Spurs get.

Just from a probability point of view, I'd say next year's ATL pick is a lot more predictable than any of those far out swaps. I think we can comfortably count on it being in that 12-18 range, with some fringe probability higher or lower than that (kind of like this year's pick). The ATL27 definitely has a well defined bell curve around a normal distribution centered around pick 14-15 IMO. Whereas those picks 5+ years away have a flat probability distribution that tails off at the edges.

I whipped up a quick little chart...

I felt great about the 2030 and the two swaps two years ago. Now? Not so much. The Luka trade reset Dallas too soon. Minny didn’t fade like some of the other sudden top seeds. They established, with two WCF trips, and probably won’t crater in time.

Stuff changes, and the further out the item in question, the more things will change.

Did some digging on Kencht and he was shooting 577EFG before the failed trade in his rookie season. He'd be a great buy low guy.

I'm down for a Knect/Sochan swap. Just go shoot the ball, Dalton, and then "we" can slowly add to his workload and see where it goes. With us potentially committing big chunks of cap space to Wemby and the three guards, maintaining a stable of cost-controlled shooters seems essential.

Champ, Barnes, and Knect would be a good start, and adding Sam Hauser to the mix would be the dream. How much is that 2028 (top-1 protected) swap with the Celtics worth?

Knecht is a horrible defender though. Why the Spurs (and many others) passed on him in the draft, along with his age. Doubt they have any interest tbh.

Goga Bitadze is on the block. Makes basically the same as Sochan. Might be worth it in a 3-team deal.

Salivating at the idea of the Bulls on that list lol. They might actually give us a FRP
:st-lol: scenario I saw thought they'd get Sochan, Olynyk, the Spurs pick swap with Dallas and their pick swap with the Kings for Kevin fucking Huerter

That’s some dumb shit.

I just saw CHI has a 17M trade exception from the Lavine trade, so they could just absorb him. Maybe we could get a nice asset back 🤔

Very interesting if the Spurs are that interested in Trey Murphy III. Scott is the guy that bought his name up here ages ago before the season even started, but it seems the Spurs are really keen to try and get him if the asking price lowers. I wonder how high they'd be willing to go?

I think they'd give salary and 3 1sts, but wouldn't include a young player like Castle or Harper.

pretty sure wherever sochan gets traded to, he still won't be a good nba player
Any team would be foolish to trade any player of value for Sochan.
Teams should have enough common sense to know if Sochan was any good the Spurs would be playing him as the Spurs need a starting quality PF.

Plays defense, can shoot, or has high BBIQ. You can only pick one.
