Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

Ahh, I think this guy doesn't realize that Fox would never sign off on a trade to Charlotte and the Spurs certainly wouldn't trade him there. It'd have to be a three team trade with Fox going to a contender. I can't believe I'm even talking about a proposed LaMelo to the Spurs trade ;).

Sochan may be traded, but I don't see any market for the other two. They're good, non-complaining end of bench guys. I like them fine as third stringers, but no one needs to trade for those kinds of players.
They'd be trading for the attached 2nd's

Oh, the idea is to trade SRPs to get rid of two perfectly serviceable deep bench players? Why?

If you want someone to be brought in, you need to send someone out, and personally I've taken a liking to McLaughlin and Lindy, but let's not pretend there's no room for improvement. Biyombo would be my first choice out the door, but if either of those two need to be used as matching salary in the right trade, so be it.

They would just cut them.

Let’s just say I put the word “moved” instead of “traded” intentionally. I think they could be waived.

I suggested that they should sign him for the Austin Spurs months ago. I thought it would be cool to have him on the Austin team so that he could live with Dylan and help him acclimate to the NBA.

What are the actual rules with G-League players these days? Can you call up anyone to an NBA team if you have an open roster slot?

So they obviously belong to that team if they're on a 2-way. So you can sign anyone else from any team that isn't on a 2-way?
You can call them up for a temporary stint, but they ultimately belong to their gleague club, and by extension the parent club, in this case Boston. The only way to acquire them is through a trade or a release.

The Spurs had just drafted his brother in June and RHJ was a FA this summer. Either he wasn’t interested or the Spurs weren’t interested, or both.

John Collins is back on the trade market for you JC Slurpers out there. I never understood the hype, every team that has him wants to trade him.

He’s a tradable asset to a shitty team. I wouldn’t move a ton for him but he’d be a decent fit.

Wiggins/PJ/JohnCollins would move the needle here. Would be fun to be part of depleting the Clips hopes.
Jabari would be a great fit and the Rockets still owe us for Scola and Jackie Butler fiasco.

What was the Jackie Butler fiasco? I don't remember.

And John Collins is intriguing at the same amount of money as Vassell, I think he'd be a better fit. How many years does he have left on his contract? If he only has one of two years, then the Spurs can try him out and if he doesn't fit, he can just roll off the books.

Or even Kalkbrenner
Yeah, I really wanted them to trade 38 + a whataburger or one of our highly protected/least favorible 2nds to go grab Flemming or Penda or Kalk or Broome or Raynaud.
But at least we got a real pick back, Sac's unprotected 2030 looking more and more likely to be top of 2nd.

The Rockets have traded Vassilis Spanoulis, a second round pick and cash to the San Antonio Spurs for the rights to Argentine power forward Luis Scola and 6-foot-10 center Jackie Butler.

ClutchFans has confirmed with a league source that the deal is as reported, though the Rockets can not mention it until 9pm Central time tonight. The pick given up by Houston will be a 2009 second-rounder.

We wanted off Butler's contract, but, what a price and with a division rival.
