Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

Miami doesn’t compromise. You fit or you git.
Which is kinda perfect for them right?

Huge upside play for what? maybe Herro straight up? Or, if not, he’s got 2 years after this one, no need to commit to extending him, and he becomes the big salary for a potential Giannis trade this summer.

I think Ja has less value than Trae, who was at least putting up decent counting stats,

After the Butler debacle,I can’t see them getting anyone who isn’t a solid cultural fit, and Ja isn’t.

Hauser should be the key target. A perfect motion shooter who isnt just catching and shooting it but doing it off the dribble, off cuts and is also a SF/PF sized wing to boot. A true Barnes replacement for the medium term and someone who can threaten Barnes for his slot in the SL.

Trouble is that his heating up might make the Celtics want to hold him and pay the luxury tax as they are going to be in the Top 2 in the East (without Tatum ..what a coaching job by Mazulla). Stevens might be tempted to give him up only if the Spurs give back the top 1 protected swap in 2028. Which the Spurs must resist and insist instead to be ready to give up the Utah SRP this year.

Yeah, the further along the season goes on, the less I want a big like Okongwu/PJ/John Collins at the 4 spot and the more I just want another wing that can shoot on high volume. Fox's shooting has regressed back to the mean, and while I think Harper and Castle can get up to league average shooting from deep eventually, I don't think it's going to happen in the next 2-3 years to where they're going to see hard closeouts in the playoffs. We just have to accept that at any given time we're probably playing 2 negative spacers relative to position in the backcourt. If that's the case, I'd rather see a shooter at the 4 who gives up some rebounding and defense and accept that we're going to have trouble against big physical teams, and maybe try to play Wemby-Kornet more against those teams. Castle did a pretty good job against Siakam a couple games ago, so it'll be interesting to see just how far his strength can get him defensively. Wemby does a very good job of rebounding and the coaching staff will just have to emphasize gang rebounding to help out.

I'd be super happy with Hauser, but he's on such a good contract that I have a hard time envisioning the Celtics are willing to trade him. He's under contract for another 3 years after this season, making 10/11/11/12. That's huge value.

Yeah, there's no chance they let him go now after they decided to keep him last summer when they were shedding salary to drop below the second apron.

Yeah, for a while I thought Hauser was on the gettable list because Boston still needed to shed salary, but if their owners have deep pockets I would expect them to be all-in this season, especially if Tatum can return for the playoffs.

Heat are probably trying to scam the Bucks out of a post-Giannis FRP.
They have no reason to downgrade Wiggins unless Riley has some kind of masterplan for the next summer and wants to shed that contract.

Smoke doesn’t always mean fire. Just for giggles, though, say he is available. Do you think he’d be happy as 3rd string, because that would be his role. Kornets not going anywhere.
Am I trippin' or was this convo about Wiggins? He'd be among my bottom 200 choices for 3rd string center and I'll die on that hill.

It allows for more flexibility in the double big lineups, he's also shooting 41.7% from 3 this year (on 120 attempts). Would fit nicely

If the Bucks do a trade for Ja, I’d assume Kuzma and Portis are part of it. Maybe a 3 team trade could ship Aldama or Wells over here for Sochan and/or Olynyk and a pick or two?

The Spurs better not be trying to trade real assets for a third-string center. There isn't a path to win if Victor and to a lesser extent Kornet get hurt. That's how things are for every team in the league. The only position to worry about is the PF/third starting wing spot. No, they might not be good enough to win this year, but no trade is going to change that.
