Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

If Nico hadn't bailed them out the west would be a lot scarier though with Doncic playing with a supporting cast that really fit him. So it's kind of nice seeing Doncic in a Giannis situation and one less high end contender to worry about.
The Luka Mavs were definitely scarier than the Luka Lakers.

I was speaking from the FTL perspective.

So if Fred Schwartz 10 year veteran on the Lakers for a season ave in 33 min per game was doing
22 pts
6 rebs
7 assists

You'd say, oh phuck, Fred needs to retire ASAP.

You Lebron Haters need to get a grip.
His biggest end of career bad move was reupping with the Lakers after the phony 2020 cartoon championship.
LeBrons' on/off numbers are pretty ugly for the second year in a row. LeBron still has the counting stats and advanced stats of a top 25 player but it feels like fools good.

On / off can be deceiving.
With the injuries to Reeves and other starters, the Laker lineup is not that good.
Just as the Spurs suffer with lack of treys, the Lakers also seriously need 3 pt shooting. Current cast sans Reeves are bricklayers.

Watched some games and Lebron is still better then a whole lot of NBA starting SFs and PFs.

i have no interest in Kuminga but what the Warriors have been doing with him feels purely like spite at this point tbh
No, he’s breaking their offense at every opportunity. He’s not even trying to be a good teammate. They should have traded him two years ago, though. They would have returned some value, and they could have parted amicably.

oh i dont mean the choice to bench him in a vacuum. this whole saga of not trading him, holding the RFA tender over his head, and then benching him and not trading him... over the course of a couple of years now

It seems the Clippers were willing to move Collins before their recent hot streak. If they go cold again maybe they would revisit this trade idea.

The Kings wouldn't need Collins, and they're the Kangz so maybe the Spurs could get in on that for cheap.
I hope the Kangz trade for Collins, offer him a 150m extension over 5 years with a no trade clause, JUST so we can finally stop talking about that guy.

If this happens, it's because the Kings were looking to dump Derozan's next year for an expiring; presumably they wouldn't much care if it was different expirings...

SAS out - Olynyk, Sochan, Biyombo (or JMac/Waters, but Biyombo because we aren't playing him at all...)
SAS in - J Collins

LAC out - J Collins
LAC In - Demar Derozan, Keon Ellis

SAC out - Demar Derozan, Keon Ellis
SAC in - Olynyk, Sochan, Biyombo

SAS adds 3 SRPs (2 to SAC, 1 to LAC)

We turn spare parts into a viable PF on an expiring (but get his bird rights, which might be important), and free up 2 roster spots (1 for DJG to get a Champ special, and then we can go fishing in the D-league and the waiver pool for a 3ed C).

The Spurs also have the Kings 20131 swap as a tiebreaker if other teams also only offer expiring and seconds. May or may not be worth it though.

I wouldn't move that swap for a rental of John Collins... If need be, I'd put more seconds in the pot (we have a TON of them), but not a FRP or a potentially juicy swap.
I thought he had one more season on his contract, but you're right he's an expiring.

That means the Kings would have no reason to just flip him for other expirings, except if they have some particular interest in Sochan.

The Spurs would have his Bird rights, but with the young big 3 coming up for extensions in the next few years it wouldn't be wise to lock up long-term money on Collins, especially with Vassell's contract on the books.

I've got my fingers crossed for a blockbuster 6 team swap of Ja, Kuminga, Zion, Giannis, MPJ, DeRozan/Lavine. We might be able to sneakily grab a piece or two as a facilitator. 2 of 3 needs upgraded here would be phenomenal: 3rd Center/Shooter/PF

He would never survive their bootcamp mentality, regular body fat measurements, etc.
They need each other. Plus Morant apparently just bought a house there in recent weeks.

I bet Miami is simply trying to drive that price down to the Trae special.

Miami doesn’t compromise. You fit or you git.

I doubt Pat Riley's Jimmy Butler experience helps Ja's wish to play in Miami, nor is Ja helping Ja. If I'm Miami, I'm keeping all my powder dry as long as Giannis is a possibility.
