Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

Goga or Wiggins would be tight. Hunter wants out of Cleveland, nearly any SG/PF would be an upgrade over HB if he’s gonna stay playing like shit.

Your shtick is getting to be a bore now. Snap out of it.

Mitch is here to stay. I am hoping he will figure a way out of the mini-rut that the Spurs are in now. And I also hope Wright helps him out. The raw +/- numbers shown in the other thread was telling. The Spurs have too many also-rans in their roster who are dragging the team down when the key guys aren't shooting well. Sochan, Olynyk top the list while Bryant gets the rookie benefit of doubt. When either of Barnes and Champs dont fire (and it has been a pattern with HB), the PF/forward position is a drag on the Spurs and I am not a great fan of the Wemby + Kornet lineups .. its not ideal for spacing when Fox also shares that court with either Castle or Harper.

Someone like an Aldama or a Hauser (pipe dream) would be ideal compared to a dud like Sochan.
Blaming Sochan and Lunch lady for everyone else ineptitude including Mitch is low AF.

The Spurs can't really stat pat here. Even just some small moves are better than nothing. This team has the potential to make the WCF, so give them the best chance possible to do that. I don't want a see what we have approach as I don't think that is the right way to go. They need some minor tweaks. I believe it will help rejuvenate them. It's all good if they don't want to burn any assets, but making some small moves might really inject the team with a shot of confidence to finish off the season strong and make a good playoff run.

Unfortunate it didn’t work out, but wish him the best. He’s my daughter’s favorite player for no other reason than his cool hair.

I wish Jeremy the best if he's traded. I hope the Spurs can at least get someone useful back for it. I'd hate to see it as a completey wasted draft pick. I wish it worked out better for him on the Spurs as he's a likeable guy. I would have been happy if he could have just averaged 8pts, 6rbs and block and steal a game. If he could have done that with good defense on top of it, he would have been really valuable to the team. I would have been fine with him being a poor shooter if he still took them and could make around 30% on average. I really wonder what went wrong to not give him any court time. Was he just not picking up the defense the team wants to play, or was it an attitude problem, or something else.

If he does get traded, I hope he goes to a team that isn't a rival as I don't want to root against him to do poorly.

Spurs will not give Sochan away. They will want a rotation player or draft capital back. He “may not” fit the system, but he knows and can be valuable if injuries happen.

His greatest value is an expiring contract trade ballast. Same with Olynyk. That's actually of some value tbh. Spurs are set to have like no tradeable expiring's next season.

Spurs have to add someone worthwhile at the deadline. Some combo of Olynyk/Sochan and second rounders should snag an upgrade somewhere.

I hope so. They need just a little tweak to inject some life and confidence back into the team. I think it would really help.

If the Pels want to continue losing, KO/Sochan for Bey/Looney/Alvarado works in the trade machine. Waive Biyombo and McLaughlin. Grab a shooter off the waiver wire.
Holding onto these assets doesn't make sense unless there are clear offseason targets in free agency. Gotta make a trade here.

Personality wise we could use a Stephen Jackson type. This team needs more fire and fight in them.

you mean like they didn't give away blake, malaki, cidy and mamu? I'd be shocked if they get anything in return given that his contract is up

at worst they should try to trade expiring contracts for some that expire next season, so they can be used in a trade in the offseason.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of giving Klay a shot.
He'd surely be motivated for one last playoff run and he'd still be the best shooter on the team.
His defense is poor, but it's not like Barnes is any better.

Olynyk+SRPs and either McLaughlin or Waters as the salary match.
