Yes of course it’s only preseason and I understand these games dont indicate how we will be this upcoming season but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it feels nice to actually be winning games.

What do you think…Have these games actually shown that this team is capable of winning?

I believe that at the very least, this team is hungry to win, including the coach. And when you’re hungry to win, that usually leads to at least a few more wins.

I want believe that this team is better than last year eventhough its only preseason.

I mean our 3rd stringers beat other teams starters/bench units. That is an indictation that we are much better this year.

I mean with stronger Victor, Steph with another training camp and an offseason working on his jumper, Fox who got his finger repaired, and adding Harper and Kornet why wouldn't you believe this is a better team than last season's?

4-0 in preseason means nothing. i want to see a 10 game winning streak in the regular season first.

Probably means we won’t ever lose a game.
Or maybe it shows how much we don’t need Sochan.
Or maybe it actually does show that we are at the level where we finally beat crappy teams instead of lose to them. That would be a nice level to be at

How is this even in question. If all the main guys stay healthy, they should definitely be better. Don't know if they're make the playoffs for sure, but they should definitely be better.

Not basing it on preseason. I'm basing it on the team being way better on paper this year and on last year being a nightmare with injuries that hopefully won't be repeated.

Opening night roster comparison:
CP3->Fox
Tre->Harper
Wesley->McLaughlin
Branham->Waters
Duke Jr->Jones-Garcia, Flagler
Sidy->Bryant
Mamu->Olynyk
Collins->Kornet
Bassey->Biyombo

Wing rotation still needs fixing, whether it be through internal improvement or getting new wings, but the difference in guard and big rotation is huge.
We went from Keldon being the best paint penetrator on the team to Fox/Castle/Harper and from Collins to Kornet.
Even third stringers DJG/Waters/Olynyk will be a big upgrade over Wesley/Branham/Bassey while Bryant develops in Austin.

@DAL
@NOLA
BRK
TOR
MIA
@PHO
@LAL
HOU
NOLA
@CHI

I'll say that I'd be disappointed by anything less than a 7-3 start.
NOLA x2, BRK, TOR, CHI should be 5 wins
I think we're better than MIA and PHO.
DAL and HOU will be close games and LAL probably won't have Lebron.

Last year Spurs with Victor was .46 good for 38 wins, play in last year was at 39 and 40 wins, direct play off was 48. Then you add healthy Fox + second year Castle + Harper + Kornhub, main effect should be second unit holding or even extending first unit lead contrary to last season... nothing else than play in would obviously be a significant upset. Play in and record above .50 is the expectation. Now will the Spurs able to reach dat mark of 48-50 wins ?

On paper it is not crazy to think Victor year 3 + healthy Fox + + + ... get us 10 more wins barring injuries BUT the team could go through an adaptation time to incorporate the new comers, figure out the proper rotation so that our 3 guards "problem" become an asset and to find solutions for potential lack of shooting... The good news is most of the issues are fixable and on coaches hands, the team is structurally sound with a strong defense fundation you can build around.

One aspect to not underestimate imo is the egos. Everything seems fine, they are happy to play together, team first etc... but Pop is not coaching anymore, Mitch is a young coach with not a lot of legitimacy, some "vets" I'm looking at you Sochan, could see less minutes in a context of new contract negotiation, Harper and Castle fighting for minutes is great if well managed, Fox could see both as a threat, more depth and scoring could mean less usage for Victor... Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it is likely but risk is bigger than previous years and for all Pop late shortcomings nobody would dare to question him, this may be not the case with Mitch who could feel pressure after a serie of bad results then frustration can grow and ego could take over.

personally I'm a believer spurs will make the playoffs top 6, but guarantee once the season starts spurs magic is going to wear off a bit and they go on a few game losing streak. Sochan still needs to get acclimated and can see inexperience start to show from the start. Never fails.

The upgrade at guard looks even more staggering by the day.

Despite some legacy nonsense from the tank years, this now feels like a different squad for the first time.
