Game Thread Spurs (7-2) @ Bulls (6-3) (Mon 11/10/2025) [7:00PM CDT]

Sochan is not much of a hobby horse for criticism anymore. Seems a little settled. So with that, I’ll move on to being irrationally upset by Jacob Tobey. Just like…shut the fuck up dude. You’re the lamest dork in sports media and your catch phrases are ruining calls we’re supposed to watch for generations.

Vic’s sizzle real is gonna have to be put on mute, like Giannis’s
The pizza line was definitely a career lowlight. Overall I don't mind him still but I hope that call haunts him in his sleep.

Wemby needs Fox to play beside to help draw attention and alleviate the double teams.

The rest of the team needs Kornet because goddamn do we suck without him if Wemby is on the bench.

Thats my point as well. I feel we are too dependent on Wemby if not kornet is available and that’s getting to Wemby’s head.

With kornet, he feels relaxed right from the Go. At this point for Wemby its more in his head than skill.

This game felt like the Phoenix game and I turned it off to play Xbox with my kids. It was a pleasant surprise to see Victor working his way out of his shooting slump.

Why was Fox acting so passive tonight?

He still managed 14 shots at least. I don't want Fox to screw up the rhythm of the team by not playing in the flow of things. I thought he did a damn good job of that last night. He's already looking much better than last season with the pinky issue.

Fun idea: we need a Game Thread Starter record tracker.

I'm 1-0 :st-lol:

We drafted one this year. CB is needed for us to be a legit contender and I’m all for him taking Sochan’s minutes

I'm a Bryant believer, but he won't be ready to be a serious contributor this season.
Which doesn't mean he shouldn't be taking Sochan's minutes.
I agree CB should get Sochan's minutes... but Sochan's minutes should be zero... so..........

I dont agree with this.

We are too early into the regular season and he has to do some experiments now.
then do not try everything in one game … give one a dnp and let others cook a bit longer .. then change it up next game

For sure, 3xAS isn't happening, 2 is unlikely but the door is very open - perennial American AS down- Tatum, Hali, Lillard, LeBron, Kawhi, AD. Kyrie. JWill is prolly out given he's gonna miss the first 15ish games, Trae wasn't playing like one and gonna miss too many games. Cle ain't getting 3xAS again. And the 16 American AS slots really helps.

IMO Castle has a huge edge over Fox because first 8 games and Fox will help Castle's weaknesses a lot- Fox helps cut down the TOs, takes lots of pressure off especially in crunch time, but Castle ends up leading in Assists and keeps getting to the line at a crazy clip. Depending on how long Harper's out, Castle may be able to keep this 18ppg scoring up too.

Fox was at his best as lead ball-handler/attacker and secondary creator playing with Sabonis. I think that happens again, and Castle gets to play off, play mostly downhill and drive + score/get fouled/alley-oop.

And yeah, Castle's just crazy impressive, so mature, so much body control, learns/adopts/improves and always gives 100%. Fierce. The future is crazy bright.

I like Johnson, but he deserves blame for this near loss. Bizarrely inserting three non rotation players to start the second and constantly subbing every 2-3 minutes after the initial subs in the first half, playing combinations that were obvious poor fits, sent a message to his own team that they were so much better than the Bulls, they could afford to experiment and still win easily.

So the Warriors play OKC tonight and then play the Spurs tomorrow? Hopefully they play double overtime tonight.

I posted in the game thread for tomorrow that I wanted a 2OT win by GS.

For the past 29 years, fans have bitched because Pop had such rigid rotations. Now, Mitch is getting slagged for NOT having rigid rotations.

Relax. It wasn’t about Chicago, it was just early season experimentation.

Yeah I have no problem with figuring out how people play together early in the season, especially with so many new players who haven't even had a chance to practice together because of injuries.

We've gone from having Jeremy Sochan be our first top 10 pick in over 20 years and setting a franchise record for consecutive losses to blaming coaches for almost losing games against a top 5 seed in the eastern conference :st-cry:

It's beautiful. It really is :st-cry:

How was I not relaxed? All I'm saying is, this team needs to stack the wins they're "supposed" to get instead of making them harder than they need to be.

The games to experiment are when they're playing a good team and can't get untracked.

Well the International starting 5 pretty much writes itself: SGA-Luka-Wemby-Giannis-Jokic, so there's only 3 slots left for International players.

Now if I'm a coach, with an 8 player roster I would believe having 3 bigs like those 3 should be enough. They might still select Sengun, but then that's the absolute limit. You really can't choose more frontcourt players for the last 2 spots.

So, who do you get that's a legitimate international guard for the ASG?

Giddey? Murray? Feels a little bit lacking... I could imagine Mathurin cuz he's really good, but he's injured and the Pacers ain't exactly doing well rn

I don't really have anyone else in mind
Yeah, Giddey and Murray with Sengun. Can't keep him off the way he's playing. Going back to last yr, Giddey's like 21/9/9 shooting over 40% from 3 since they traded Levine and its not a fluke, its a 1/2 season worth of game- dude HAS to fully run the O but he'll produce. Murray is due and having his best season on the 2nd best team- shocked if he doesn't make it.

Sucks for Avdija, Lauri, and co though. At least 2-3 of those guys will be top25 players with all the injured Americans.

Injuries are often a factor that opens spots.
The point is AMERICANS. 16 Americans will be All-stars, but its very unlikely 16 Americans have played well enough and enough games to be '25-'26 top24 players at the AS vote. That gives Americans a HUGE advantage.
