Game Thread Spurs (59-18) @ Nuggets (49-28) (Sat 4/4/2026) [2:00PM CDT]

Not the end of the world... would have loved to win this one but ultimately meaningless and a good learning experience tbh. gsg

The problem with Fox is, he can't shoot from three. He has no range. If he's not open or gets himself open, he's a poor three point shooter. Not sure how that will work in the playoffs.

Props to Steph. The kid never gives up. Warrior. Plays his ass off.

KJ, and that shooting form, another guy I don't trust shooting.
Why are you blaming fox? It was wemby’s fault tbh.

At the end of the day, is it nice having Fox? Yes. But it’s painful to watch him play this bad when we have a stud rotting on the bench.

If Harper plays the end of reg we win

Denver completely out-veteran us and the shocking part our supposed vet PG was the one who shat the bed.

Ugh don't want to play these fuckers in the 2nd round at all.

Some championships come down to avoiding the worst matchup, and that was definitely the case in 2007, with Dallas not avoiding the Warriors and the Spurs avoiding Dallas (and to a lesser extent, the Pistons) by sheer luck.

Yeah Fox has sat too many games in critical moments to give chance to other players.

But Mitch if you want to ride with Fox, please give all those minutes to get him back to rhytam. This is bullshit.
Very true. He can't turn it on at all. No switch to flip.

Still believe Spurs are technically contenders but what we saw down the stretch is why I'm hesitant to believe they can win the finals.
Agreed. This defensive scheme of leaving three point shooters to collapse in the paint does not help things.

Denver is good. Home court - especially with the altitude (less of a factor in playoffs when you are there longer) and the Spurs definitely struggled a lot late but Its honestly good for them to struggle. This team doesn't really know struggle, so I hope in the long run this is a net positive.

Tough loss very frustrated. But I’m not overreacting. It won’t be easy, but we can definitely beat these boys in the playoffs. They had to dig as deep as they possibly could on their court to beat us today.

That four point play was the difference in the game. We're up 6 with a little over a minute left, if you just give Jokic the layup there are few ways to lose.

Choke shots galore for us. KJ, Vassell, Champ, Fox all missed so many shots that would've swung in our favor. Not our day. Do we always lose early games?

It's okay. Team has to figure out how to get short possession offense when it stops being a full-court game. Sitting on the ball then playing hot potato won't work. Some dumb defensive rotations at the end. And then Fox just fucking awful this game. I would have yanked him much earlier.

Their offense is better than ours, where the fuck was the defense today? Denver in 6 tbh

Spurs can take Denver down - I would say the spurs beat themselves this game, not that Denver dominated.
Yeah, I'm not terribly concerned. Played in Denver, they needed a W, and have a ton of experience the Spurs don't have. It's fine. But holy hell did Fox suck. He's not the one who is supposed to be this bad.

this loss is no big deal in itself: good close game; on the court of a very good team. but we really should hope that Denver stay behind the lakers, and this loss tonight surely doesn't help.
