Game Thread Spurs (59-18) @ Nuggets (49-28) (Sat 4/4/2026) [2:00PM CDT]

MVP is pretty much a wrap tbh. Likely won't be close either which is ridiculous.

While we’d all love to see a Wemby MVP - 2nd place with multiple first place votes is such an accomplishment and something to really be proud of.

The NBA media believes in these unwritten rules about players having to cut their teeth, which is what cost Wemby DPOY in his rookie year, which I think looking back many of those voters would probably admit they got wrong. The same is at play here, with these voters not going to give it to Wemby because “he hasn’t proven it in the playoffs” which is completely non-sensical in the context of the MVP race, but it’s just a reality.

This will all be easily remedied with a strong post-season performance, which is why many of these same media personalities would tell you Wemby is the favorite for MVP next year already. It’s because he will have “paid his dues” even if there isn’t a significant jump in his play next year (which there very well may be).

Anyway… super proud (if that is the right word) of getting 2nd in MVP with multiple first place votes this year.

I'd be surprised if we score less than 115, every competent team has an easy time against the Nuggets defense.
130 at least, they are that bad , but of course we need to not let them score 136 like the last two games :st-lmao:

I would be just as satisfied with him getting FMVP !

He most definitely is.
Lebron lost in the second round in his 3rd season.
MJ didn't make it to second round until his 4th season.

Can't compare the likes of Timmy, Magic, Bird or Kareem that had serious help from the start.
i kind of still view this season as his real second season, so, in fact maybe he's ahead already

1st team All NBA + DPOY would be an amazing achievement in itself.

lakers are probably losing every game from here on, so i'm not sure the playoff seed argument stands

Lebron says no. He's our starting power forward next year.
Hard pass. Let him do his retirement tour in CLE or elsewhere. Last thing we need is Lebron sucking the air out of the room as we're trying to ring next year.
