Game Thread Spurs (54-18) @ Grizzlies (24-47) (Wed 3/25/2026) [7:00PM CDT]

I thought the same thing about the Spurs in 2012 when they won 20 straight. Look how that turned out.

I agree that when this team is in the zone, they’re really in the zone. I honestly believe they’re playing like the best team in the league right now. But I’ve come to learn that that doesn’t necessarily mean they will win the championship.

The Spurs were the best team in the NBA in 2012, they just got screwed hard by the refs in games 5 and 6 and they should have won game 4 in OKC but Ibaka morphed into Black Dirk for one game and shot 11/11 from the field all on jump shots.

the funniest part of the rockets/twolves game was watching slowmo shoot free throws in ot. good lord :ROFLMAO:
I thought the sequence where Vinny Descansonitit and Senguen collided, the ball bounced off Vinnys foot (twice), almost went out of bounds, etc etc etc too much to type.

Smh Wemby is putting up what would be a (maybe) once in a season highlight plays for most players.
Only he's doing it every game.

And of course we know he's doing plays that no one has done in NBA history. On the regular.

well, great to see the team playing so well, but i wouldn't mind a little bit less of staring down opponents and laughing after every dunk to be honest...... sorry to sound like a party pooper, but there's no shame on being dunked on trying to defend and no need to be cocky every time... and the announcer, this tobey guy, who is very good at his job by the way, but..... "he emasculated him ?" on the Wemby's dunk.... seriously ??
Tracking with you - after all it was Memphis. Back in Pop’s coaching days, I don’t recollect that bunch acting this way, they were all business then! Today’s players seem more unrestrained. Glad the are having success though. When the playoffs kick in, their demeanor will change.

If we win out I believe we will be rewarded. Next 2 games should be cake, but the three on the road at GSW, LAC, DEN, we should lose at least 1 of those
Yeah I was looking ahead and saw the GS and LAC are back to back games. I just don’t want to see Curry go off singlehanded on us. The LAC game will be a tough one.

Two of the most insane posters in Spurs history and they come in the same game. Wild. Hang 'em both in the Louvre.

Said it in the Seedings thread but the T'Pups' tenacity is scary tbh. We've already seen it first-hand a couple times this season; they're never out of a game (Spurs are similar at least).

Classic 'built for the playoffs' team..

The way I see it: If we are not in a position to get the Top seed, i think we should tank that last game vs Denver to make sure they are in OKC's bracket (Nuggets up 1 game + tiebreak vs HOU). By then Spurs should be on 60 wins and Wemby already checked off 65-games played. I think everything will come down to that penultimate Wolves @ Rockets game to decide the 5th & 6th seed (1-1 season series). Wolves then might have a choice in their last game vs Pelicans: Lakers without HCA or Nuggets with or without HCA. They match-up well with everybody. so it will be interesting to see how they approach it.

If the Thunder haven't lost another game by the time the Spurs play the Nuggets in Denver it'll be time to start playing for matchups imo.

We"re going to see a lot of teams maneuvering for seeds last couple of games including the Rockets tanking for the Lakers thinking that's the only team they can beat in a series-- a thought mutually shared by the Lakers i guess :st-lol:

Fucking Hawks have turned into the Eastern Conference Spurs since AllStar break. They refuse to lose. Trey must have really been holding them back.

Top Seed = Wemby MVP + HCA
2nd Seed = Lakers/Rockets bracket

Win-Win situation, tbh.
If Wemvp was guaranteed I’ll take that risk. But I dont see him winning it even with the 1 seed. Narrative is too strong for sga right now
