Game Thread Spurs (54-18) @ Grizzlies (24-47) (Wed 3/25/2026) [7:00PM CDT]

10 stocks in 26 mins for Vic. Also eliminated Memphis tonight. Adios, perros.
I really fucking hate the Grizzlies and their fanbase. I'm not sure why, they've never done anything, but man I fucking hate them.

Thats for DPOY though.
A healthy year next season and I think he wins the MVP award. Right now the media still has their head up their ass about the flopping fish in OKC. By next season, they’ll be looking for a new narrative.

i dont know about that though. In my opinion unless wemby make a big leap offensively on a consistent basis he’s gonna have a hard time getting that MVP award. He might finish 2nd or 3rd but not enough to win it.

Sat @ Milwaukee with no Giannis.. But the bad news is this is a day game.. Always tricky for the Spurs..

Well, they have done something.

In 2011 they beat the #1 seeded Spurs in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs (1 vs. 8).
I guess I don't consider beating a team in the first round an accomplishment. Particularly since the Spurs did exactly as well without Tiago Splitter in the rotation as I said they would. The fact that Popovich tried to throw Splitter into the lineup in desperation once it was too late is just proof that I was correct.

Didn’t get to watch so I just checked the score. Maybe it’s the old habit in me, but I was a little scared they’d somehow drop this one. Sorry guys, still getting used to this new norm

The only problem is, you might rather be the #2 seed than #1 in the West.

You might play the Lakers in the 2nd round rather than maybe Denver or Minny.

Hang it in the Louvre.

I think he surprised Hendricks by dunking while still on the way up.

This team is just on a different plane of existence right now. It's not the shot-making, it's not even Wemby being dominant - they truly get into a "flow state" for stretches where they are coordinated as fuck on half-court play executions. It's crazy to see such a young and relatively inexperienced team put it together at this rate.

Folks complained about the 2nd Q but that's the team taking the foot off the pedal, deservedly or not. When they want it, they tap into that gear - fully playing off of Wemby's roll gravity, Castle and Harper's (and Fox's) driving gravity, and relying on their spaced-out shotmakers.... And just bury teams.

In the last what, 15 games? It seems they've finally realized how to utilize Wemby without even having to get him "touches" - it's been quite a while since I've groaned at a badly-executed entry pass to a high-posting Wemby. They're running completely different stuff with Wemby as a "true roll man" and it works too well because every single team is scared as fuck of letting Wemby anywhere near the rim.

It really is only a relative lack of playoff experience preventing me from seeing this group as championship favorites, tbh. Just can't imagine them getting beat 4 out of 7 by any other team. Just crazy, crazy, crazy stuff
