Game Thread Spurs (52-18) vs Pacers (15-55) (Sat 3/21/2026) [7:00PM CDT]

Wemby cares and he should care.. It impacts his contract status and his legacy..
Another reminder.... the only post-season award that impact Wemby's contract this year is MVP. Winning DPOY or making All-NBA this year does not qualify him for the rookie supermax. He would need to that next year.

But, if he won MVP this year, he would immediately qualify for the rookie supermax.

Got it..

Thanks..

As much as Bismack is a wasted roster spot playing-wise (@scott), i think this is exactly why he is part of the team justified or not. I truly wonder who will be doing this role next year when (or if?) Bismack is gone next year. It feels like the Spurs will want to reserve a spot for a community minded person like this at all times (Tre Jones did this before Bismack). I know I harp on this a lot but if the Spurs could have all players be as community minded and of high character as they are talented, they would prefer that over anything else.

The Spurs are an org that prides itself as being classy and I think they want it to remain that way for a long time.

The nightmare scenario of Wemby missing out on DPOY by one game is sadly here.. Because of his anatomy, i just don't think he will be able to handle big minutes or large blocks of consecutive games played--which he recently went through for the first time in his career-- without sustaining an injury, a niggle, a joint stress etc

He played 71 games rookie year and was on his way to having a fine second year if not for the upper arm DVT. He’ll be fine

Hope so. But this latest run of consecutive tough games has taken its toll it seems. Doesn't help that Kornet has fallen off a cliff leaving so much on Wemby's shoulders

IMHO today’s questionable is more to do with how ass the pacers are than anything lingering with Wemby.

Nuggets game seems like it was real in retrospect
