Game Thread Spurs (51-18) vs Suns (39-30) (Thu 3/19/2026) [7:00 PM CDT]

Cade Cunningham diagnosed with a collapsed lung, out for a considerable time. Hope he's OK
As I understand, the recovery timeline can vary a lot based on the severity and cause.

Anecdotally, I had a spontaneous pneumothorax last October. I was originally hospitalized for 3 days, then cleared to exercise a week later. My lung proceeded to collapse a second time which led to another 10 days in the hospital and multiple surgeries. The recovery was pretty brutal the first four weeks, and I slowly improved from there. 5 months later, I’m back to running but still not quite 100%.

If this is a singular occurrence, I’d expect him back at some point this season, but who knows. Tough blow for Cade and the Pistons.

Interesting balance tonight between sending a message against an opponent that's been tough for us, and not showing too much against a potential 1st round opponent.

Learning how to play against a good 3pt shooting team is crucial

Teams deep in the playoff will do that to mitigate Wemby's defense (okc would bench hartenstein, boston would start Garza instead of Queta etc...)

Also had dat shit younger same as you. Don't worry you will come back 100%. Now for Cade, it depends of what is behind the word collapsed if it is few mm natural recovery is quite fast unless it reoccurs. As they mention out for considerable amount of time it must be more serious like centimers or totally but this rarely happens naturally it is usually following a shock like for instance a car crash or shit like that.

Was that an in-game injury? How TF did that happen? Darn.

For you guys that have had it happen, does this just happen or is it usually from an injury/blow or can it be caused from an infection?

It's also my birthday this weekend and I got tickets to the next 2

T-minus 20 hours til tipoff and no game thread so I'm taking it. It's also my birthday this weekend and I got tickets to the next 2 games as a bday gift so I'll be in attendance at both tbh.

Spurs looking to make it 4 Wins in a row tomorrow night as we host a Suns team that have lost 3 straight (@ TOR, @ BOS, and @ MIN by an average of 9 PPG) after previously winning 6 of their last 7 by an average of 10 PPG, in what could be a potential preview of our First Round Playoff matchup.

Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams are both listed as OUT for this game. Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neal are both listed as QUESTIONABLE.

Devin Vassell is listed as AVAILABLE for this one so we'll have all hands on deck tomorrow night.

No excuses not to win this one at home. Let's get it.

It happens naturally usually young tall skinny.. the fluid that glues your lunk to your thorax produces bubbles that go up and when they blup can detach your lung usually few mm.. but it is extremely painful. One can recover naturally or if it becomes pesistent, you have to provoke a total detachment to glue it definitely. Doing a procedure it takes time to recover, one week hospital and several home for the cicratization

It can also happen after a broken rib, a violent impact etc
