Game Thread Spurs (50-18) @ Kings (18-51) (Tue 3/17/2026) [9:00 PM CDT]

B2B against a king's team trying to lose, hopefully all the questionables and etc can just rest easy till thursday

Gotta think this is a game where Wemby will be on a heavy minutes restriction for that ankle, so hopefully De'Aaron can have a monster game shutting the crowd up. Hope Devin's ankle isn't too bad, as he has become an automatic bucket from the midrange when the Spurs need something to stop a run.

Bold Prediction: Champ and CB each turn in 20 point double-doubles tonight... so career highs in both categories for CB.

I get the sense that there is no animosity towards Fox and if he started having a big game, they'd cheer him on. Kangz fans are a surprisingly self-aware bunch... they knew the score and that it was time for Fox to move on.

Is this his first game back in Sac? Can't remember. If it is, they're gonna boo the F outta him tbh.

That was a year ago, they boo’d him plenty and will tonight but they know their team is a dumpster fire and don’t really blame him much. They mostly just didn’t like that he torpedo’d his trade value by naming the Spurs as his preferred destination.

The only person I remember being really bent out of shape was Malik Monk. I think he had some words for Fox, and then Fox’s wife had words for him, IIRC.

I've followed the Kings subreddit since the initial Fox rumors, and the general consensus seems to be they got over it a long time ago. Even in his return game in SAC last year, it was more cheers than boos for him... I imagine they view him more as a Derrick White than a Kawhi

Damn, didn't even need a talking to.

You could argue the Kings got a better haul than Spurs got for nephew
Sacramento Kings get:

  • Zach LaVine
  • Sidy Cissoko
  • 2025 first-round pick (via Hornets)
  • 2027 first-round pick (via Spurs)
  • 2031 first-round pick (via Timberwolves)
  • 2025 second-round pick (via Bulls)
  • 2028 second-round pick (via Nuggets)
  • 2028 second-round pick (via Bulls)
As Scott said earlier Kings fans are fairly self aware and Fox had given them plenty of his career with no signs they were going anywhere.
Nephew did in his trade value with a team that had won a title and recently been in the conference finals. A team with a track record of long term success

reminder that they did not actually get a 2025 first rounder via the Hornets. its really 2 firsts, a bunch of SRPs, and an albatross LaVine contract that is so bad they were unable to move him this deadline.

and we'll see next year what the quality is of that 2027 SAS pick. seems like it wont be great

The Fox deal was a heist for SA. Even getting Barnes at the time was a slick move. SAC shouldn't trade with SA again anytime soon lol

Maybe the initial Haul, but over time, our haul was pretty sweet. You just need patience and perspective.
2019 FRP —> Keldon
DeRozan —> CHI 2025 FRP, Thad Youung —> TOR 2022 FRP —> Branham
Poeltl —> TOR 2024 FRP —> MIN 2030 FRP swap,MIN 2031 FRP

For the Fox trade, we threw in the MIN 2031 FRP, CHI 2025 FRP, which they were tanking to keep, a few SRPs not listed in this trade tree, plus cissoko, who was picked using a SRP from this trade tree. On top of that, we flipped a fake CHA FRP that by the deadline was days from falling into its final protection zone, and our own 2027 FRP. Outside of 5hose last two, everything in the Fox trade came from the Kawhi trade tree, essentially a six year rolling trade of Kawhi for Fox, adding on the fake CHA pick, plus our own 2027. Oh, and we got a 6MOY candidate in Keldon., and we still have the 2030 swap from Minny.

Oh, and I’d argue that at this point, Lavine is a net negative.

I think the hate on Fox by Kings fans is the way he handled it, but you also couldn't blame him for leaving that trainwreck franchise. The Mike Brown firing just sealed the deal for him. Definitely not comparable to Nephew leaving a championship contender and one of the most competent and respected organizations in the league.

Prime Video no go. Unreal how many of the other games they have on.

Peacock no

NBC in CA found it but no Spurs being shown here in San Diego.

Anyone got a hail mary for me?

I don't suppose League Pass pro rates since we're pushing into April?

And some of you have posted the still block some Spurs games. F that.

I got an email that they do have an end of season deal for league pass… you can also just go month to month

I get whatever this NBC Sports Cow Town channel is here in HI, so Kangz games (in addition to Warriors games) I have to watch their broadcasts, as League Pass blacks them out for me

Kangz pre-game had nothing but good things to say about Fox and the Spurs. They showed the clip of FVV saying everyone should pump the brakes on the Spurs and the lady who does the Kings studio show basically said FVV needs to stfu
:st-lol:

Also, Kings pre-game and post-game shows are actually really good… wish we had a media infrastructure around the Spurs like they do… their radio/podcast game is a step above ours
