Game Thread Spurs (5-1) @ Lakers (6-2) (Wed 11/05/25) [9:00PM CDT] on ESPN

I don't fucking get it. He can make Anthony Davis look like his nine year old in the paint but won't post up LaRavia or Marcus Smart. When I saw Victor just back his way down into Davis from FT line to the low block and throw that easy jump hook all I could think is NBA = Fucked when Victor isn't scared of the paint anymore. Spurs need to take a Brinks truck to Houston and beg Hakeem to be an assistant.

We need a pollen report tbh

Regardless of this game, if the Spurs are going to do anything this season Victor’s going have to figure this defense out. I would bet on him doing that.

And the morons here who are screaming about Wemby. There will be an adjustment period when Wemby is being physically targetted. The Spurs did well to score off corners in the first quarter but the Lakers started to adjust and getting Wemby into foul trouble hurt his momentum when he was just getting to go.

Wemby isn't the problem. The Spurs just lack a good table setter beyond Castle who isn't naturally one. Too bad Dylan Harper got injured. He was the best thing to partner Wemby and their minutes together were always gold for the Spurs so far.

Till Fox is back..the Spurs have to make do with what they have. My silver lining is that the Spurs have played much better than the Phoenix game. And they have a chance to beat the Lakers at their home still. So all in all, a positive first half. Heres hoping a better second one.

Thing is, contrary to the Suns game our shooters have established that you can't really leave them open tonight, especially with the corner 3.

So that should be even more reason for Victor to dominate the paint.

lakers have more rebounds, steals and blocks … how does this happen

I have never seen a team struggle to feed a player down low or in the post as much as this team does, and they have the easiest target to hit in the entire league in Wemby

i guess the silver lining is a very promising half from sochan. he looked nervous, but made solid plays. not good on rebounds though

Tbh not excusing Wemby’s poor play here but I do think there’s a reason that teams are putting smaller players on him.

He can actually be more successful with his physicality vs taller players, even good defenders like AD.

He just doesn’t have the leverage against smaller players and the refs really let them get into him in a way that they wouldn’t let a big man in my opinion

I understand he wants to make the right decision for the team but at some point we do fucking need his points ffs. Still waiting for the moment he says fuck it and just goes & provokes fouls.
That's not in his nature. He's a nice kid. Too nice.

the mavs were not ready for wemby and did not adjust … if we were playing them now the game would look a lot different

Haltime

The idiotic turnovers and overall low BBIQ is very concerning.

What's up with Fox's injury anyway, almost forgot he is even still on this team?

Wemby needs his jumper back. He would have a better time against these small defenders if he can just shoot over them.

If the teams are adjusting, we got to adjust as well.

I don’t see those. We need a tone setter badly.

I remember wemby being so good passing the ball during his rookie year. All that is gone.

This team is ugly without a real PG on the court.

After Wemby, Fox and Harper may be the next 2 most important players on the team.

I dont know how Wemby is able to take over the game in the 2nd half without a PG to run it through and proper damn spacing from the other 4 players. There's way too much crowding when Wemby is in. Get him in the high post, put shooters in both corners, and space the damn wings

Local LA broadcast crew is excellent tonight. Very fair.

Sorry for those of you stuck with BSPN Disney.

wemby posted up and all lakers were in the vicinity of him

Wemby has GOT to at least try. This is getting concerning. I’d rather they lose but he goes down swinging than this passive stuff. What did the Suns do to this guy?

Who is challenging? LA has another challenge? I thought they used before the half time
