Game Thread Spurs (49-18) @ Clippers (34-33) (Mon 3/16/2026) [9:00PM CDT]

I’m only afraid of facing Curry as far as the 1st round is concerned. Aside from that, our free throw shooting is my biggest fear in the playoffs.

I'm still not afraid of the Clippers.

Even though Nephew was out, we were still missing Harper and Kornet for all his struggles lately is 100x better than Plumdog. We already know our guys intensity drops when they play down to injured teams. I expect their focus will be there in a potential series with the Clips.

Healthy Curry Dubs are much more of a threat than Nephew’s Paper Clips

This is why I don't mind the Spurs being locked in the second seed. I don't see the Warriors ending up in 7th. I think by looking at the way they are currently positioned their ceiling in the standings is 8th place even with factoring in the play in.

Lue game plans the Spurs pretty well. I think he's a good coach. And they have chippy, scrappy players now who will keep after it. I'd definitely pick the Spurs but there would be easier matchups.

u haven't seen Nephew in out-of-the-world form; that version of Nephew is unbeatable

Ayyy Common sighting.
I couldn't figure out who that was. Looked familiar, but couldn't place who it was. Thanks.

As for the game, man, just finished watching it. Got down big, came back and go up big, then let them back in the game. Not a great game at all.

And what about Julian? I mentioned it days ago, but he's vanished. He's now providing zero in the starting 5. Can't have Julian going the way of HB too. Maybe what I've been saying, start Carter Bryant. Maybe the gods are trying to tell the Spurs, start CB.

The spurs forward slots are so up and down across games. Barnes, Champ, CB, KJ, Vassell sort of man those spots by committee, and all are capable of changing the course of a game with their play. (I still have faith in unc pulling his weight in the playoffs in a grand redemption arc. Call me delusional.)

As a casual, it seems to me like KJ and Vassell have been the most consistently positive players (imagine hearing that at the beginning of the season!) but the overall depth really plays in our favor here. It's not a terrible situation as it is now.

Still, I guess we'd all love to see CB outright claim a starter role, eh? I don't think he's quite ready, but I would still love to see an early trial by fire. That 4 slot is the most concerning of the mix. If he can consistently hit threes and cut down on rookie mistakes, it's kinda over imo.
