Game Thread Spurs (43-17) @ Sixers (33-27) (Tue 03/03/26) [7:00 PM CST]

If you have access to a local NBC affiliate, it’s also on there.
Actually, no.

My local NBC channel 4 in LA will not be airing the Spurs game tomorrow (although they will be airing the Suns-Kings game after that).

Maxey must be contained. Wonder if Fox guards him or more Castle and Harper.

Also, Champagnie needs re-engage

Alas, not for me.

Although I pay for NBA League Pass, I cannot access the SA FanDual broadcast -- it will be blacked out.

Peacock once again wins -- congrats to you!
I'm with you. Tired of these streaming shell games. Heck, jack up League Pass price if that will get me one package to cover all 82. ... and maybe hand over the League Pass reins to Amazon Prime lock, stock, and barrell, because the entire League Pass experience is amateur hour.

This is a big game as far as I'm concerned. Apart from Detroit (Who was missing Stewart and since they wanted to play physical, who knows how the Spurs would have went against the extra physicality he would have likely brought. It was a good win, but Detroit weren't at full strength missing one of their key players that brings physicality) the game against NY was a really good test against a full/close to full strength team. A test that they failed. They've played too many depleted or just plain crap teams in their 11 game win streak. Maybe only the second time in that streak that they played a good team that wasn't missing key players, and they got their asses handed to them.

The Knicks game was a learning experience for the young bucks I said that during the game now they need to learn the new lesson how to bounce back and take that loss out on the 76ers

I'm eager to see if there's any changes to the rotations. People say "burn the tape" when teams have terrible games, but they're some of the most valuable lessons to be analyzed - more so in this modern era of everything being recorded, clipped, etc.

Hoping for either more sensible substitution patterns, switching out some role player minutes (get my man CB some freakin' run!!), or some other mix-up. Just can't trot out the same old after such a punch to the mouth, even if the team was rolling beforehand. We'd do well to take advantage of the fact that the playoffs aren't really so near yet.

CB should be starting. I have no idea what the Spurs are doing. They've got a gaping big hole at PF and they'll get their asses handled to them if they're going to keep running the same lineups out there. CB brings some more physicality which is sorely lacking at that spot. They don't have to play him the whole game (they can just start him in the first and third quarters and see how he plays), but I'd like to see a better tone set to start the games, and I think he can help set it. I believe he has the physical tools to bring more athleticism and more resistance against teams trying to bully the Spurs.

I’m going to post this again here so it doesn’t get missed.

The Spurs are the second best team in starting games. Facts over feelings. The Spurs have been were on a 11 game winning streak and fans want to turn it upside down because of one loss. Think about how crazy that sounds.

Wait, what? :st-lol: it's not a fact that the Spurs are a good 1st quarter team because of HB's invaluable presence; it's just as easily due to Mitch's questionable substitution patterns not having taken place yet (or at least, the facts you presented do not point there exclusively).

Besides, basketball isn't a zero-sum game; I'd easily trade a slightly worse 1st Q performance if it doesn't lead to the "Get Big Lead --> Lose Big Lead" pattern that the Spurs have been suffering all season long. Bryant may well turn into a better contributor than HB if given the chance, role and reps, whilst Barnes is bound to continue decaying.

I know you're surely aware of the saying "Numbers don't lie, but people can lie using numbers", D, c'mon! There's obviously room for improvement on the roster and it's hard to look at the Spurs continually outmatched on the glass (lost rebounding battle to the Pistons despite the win, bad performance against Toronto as well, the Knicks is self-evident) and still say "well, they're having such good 1st quarters, I wouldn't risk that changing!". As has been said many times, the 11-win streak had multiple teams missing players etc, the starting lineup (any lineup really) is not a foregone conclusion at all.
