Game Thread Spurs (40-16) vs Pistons (42-13) (Mon 02/23/26) [6:00 PM CST] on Peacock

My dad died last Feb 15 from a 2nd heart attack after 2 yrs. Thank you Spurs for making my days a little better. Baseline bums have given more as much comfort and safe zone as one can get during times like this.

I remember my dad having cable TV installed at our home just in time for me to watch Spurs Detroit game 1 2005.
So sorry to hear that man.

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you have the Spurs games to remember him by. Especially that 05 series.

Wednesday......Detwaw vs OKC
Hate to say it, but I think OKC waxes then by doing what we did: cutting off the head of the snake. They’re particularly good at attacking teams with one real initiator, turning them over, and running.

One thing I will say about Cade, that dude does not give a shit about his shooting efficiency so long as he gets the win. He knows he's the only guy who can realistically create offense, and he is not afraid to miss a fuckton of shots to try and force the issue.

I remember a couple months ago when he missed like 30 or 31 shots or something absurd to win against the wizards

Is a B2B with OKC playing the raptors the night before

OTOH, OKC is without most of their lead ball handlers. Cason Wallace is solid but Detroit should feast there as well.

Favorite part of this game was when Julian got a 3 in the corner late and JB was screaming at him right behind him and he sank the three and turned around and I can only hope said "Shut the fuck up"

Watching this game in my office and I'm so hyped up after this win I can't leave lol... better get home for dinner though.

Remember to submit those grades!

Thank you Baseline Bums - what a great inaugural season for our new home!
Thank you. You, @BatManu20 , @LeBowen and everyone else have made this a very enjoyable site. The knowledge, the fandom and banter have been great.

Jeez dude, way to kill the mood. In all seriousness though, I’m sorry for your loss. At least your old man’s in a better place. Hope you and your family have solace in that fact.

Fizdale would do that shit as an assistant in Miami iirc. Always thought it was weak shit to do by coaches. Leave that crap to the players.

Sorry about your pops man and glad the Spurs can give us all some happiness watching them having such an awesome season.

Damn what we you guys thinking when Detroit jumped out to that quick 17-4 lead in Game 1 back when a 13 point lead meant something? I still remember the soul crushing feeling of my dad buying both Games 1 & 2 of Spurs-Rockets from First Choice PPV back in 1995 only to go into an 0-2 hole when we all thought they were gonna ring. Had to feel like that for a couple of minutes with that disastrous start until Big Dog Glenn Robinson came in and steadied the ship.
