Game Thread Spurs (40-16) vs Pistons (42-13) (Mon 02/23/26) [6:00 PM CST] on Peacock

This is the shit boyz!

Pistons thought they were laying wood on our spurs and thought they were going to bully and intimidate…
Then they saw the score was 57-55 at halftime AFTER they basically played football/rugby defense…
And had the refs carrying water for them…

Fuck that

Spurs stayed focused on EXECUTION EXECUTION EXECUTION

This is going to be a run to the playoffs and the train will keep rollin downhill!

The game they just played was so physical. Spurs play more finesse and fast. Detroit plays extremely physical, very similar to 2005 pistons. But spurs were able to match them and beat them at their own game. That’s what I loved most about this win.

They didn’t win because of hot shooting or a crazy night by a single player, but they played team basketball, responded to detroits physicality and simply beat them. Wemby with 21pts but my favorite stats are the 17rebs and 6 blocks.

I missed the first 2.5 quarters but I liked the guard rotations in the 4th. Keeping a fresh 2 of Fox, Caste or Harper pushing the pace exposed the Pistons.
Pistons are a lower talent and lower IQ team than the Spurs it seems. Unreal how far we've come since letting go of "the kids."
It's awesome that Keldon got into it with Cade and Duren.

From the game in Austin on Saturday, this team can go on a run in a hurry with defense and getting out in transition. So cool to see these guys buying in and figuring it out in real time.

I cannot recall a young team putting it together this fast and thoroughly. I've only been watching since the Bullets were in the finals, though.

They're already way behind tbh. Spurs are on their NINTH straight win and top-3 in everything. Insane the buzz some meager players have been getting over the clear DPOY + superstar on a top contender
Sam's been ahead of the curve on the Spurs... now it's time to get the MVP hype rolling as well. Time for another MVP + DPOY winner joining MJ, Hakeem and Giannis as the only dual award winners.

I think this is the game where we all realized, Spurs fans included, that this team can legitimately win a championship this year.

I’m in that category tbh.., until tonight I was on the pretender scepter with a realistic shot at west finals but this game felt different

Idk homie, Vassell draining 3s like a video game Def helped

Yeah, he's been higher on the Spurs than most. Don't know if they'll go live and discuss this game though, they just did their takeaways with the Pistons as one of the subjects.

Just gotta play enough games for him to qualify and it's his to lose if we're playing at THIS level tbh

...which is all the more reason I'm still freaking pissed at those Detroit shitheads. Swinging and grabbing like you've never seen an injury before, SMH
