Any word on Ant yet?

MIN are actually better without Ant this season, especially on defense, so I hope he plays

Some of us did. The mistake some made, because we wound up with the #2 pick, was seeing last year as a tank year, instead of an abortive play in year. We were on track for it, but once Wemby went down, the logical thing to do was to do Fox’s surgery, for the late drop in the standings to #9.

What must terrify the league is that we’re a flawed team that doesn’t shoot well, and occasionally goes through bouts of turnovers, and we’re second in the West at the pole mark of the season. The only thing that we can really hang our hat on is defense, night to night, and we regularly hold teams at or below 100 points in the pace and space era. We go into hostile arenas and beat top teams. Imagine what happens if our two young guards become even 35-36% 3 point shooters. We could go on a Bulls Style run of titles in an 8 or 10 year period. These are heady times, folks. Enjoy seeing it unfold.
I remember a quote by Manu Ginobili last season that he expected the Spurs to compete for the play in, in Wemby's season 2 and playoffs in season 3 and from there, a contender. Last season ended up in disappointment because of Wemby's scary blood clot but this season the Spurs are ahead of expectations.

Besides the talent infusion (Fox via trade, Kornet via FA, Harper via draft) and talent improvement (Castle taking a leap), the Spurs should be given credit for sticking with players like Keldon (whom we thought was done), Devin (the Spurs FO/ Coaching staff have consistently rated him higher than fandom), Barnes (irrespective of his slump lately he has brought a nightly presence and veteran calm) and for developing Champs (quietly among MIPs across the league).

The fact that the Spurs can expect more internal development and has maneuver for room via trade/ FA is also good news. Which means that they just have to fill in minor blanks and find replacements for deep disappointments and failures (like Sochan). And their path will continue.

Damn, that's almost half the season. And we're still the 2nd Seed.

It's been a crazy year and I don't think any of us really saw a 50+ win season in the cards.

Keep that in mind when the Spurs continue to shoot like shit tonight and fall into the early deficit. The team needs to grow into champions.
i wager, most of us did

Here are the receipts for anyone who wants them:

More receipts for those who want them. I’m relieved to find I did put a 50+ win season in writing

Their Gobert on off minutes are Wemby-like. Their defense completely falls apart when Gobert goes to the bench.

Then again with how bad the Spurs are defending the 3 I’m not sure if more Naz Reid minutes will be good or bad.

Devin Vassell dressing for the last two games like NBA arenas don’t have climate control
:st-lol:

Disappointed we didn’t get to see the Wolves Purple Rain jerseys tonight

Good start let’s not fall in love with the 3 though please… unless you are BLACK FALCON BABY

Don’t you toy with me Barnes… don’t you toy with me
