Game Thread Spurs (25-9) vs Trailblazers (15-20) (Sat 01/03/26) [7:00 PM CDT]

They're shooting worse than Sochan. We need desperately good shooting coach for our young guards, unless we're happy to wait for a miracle like with Jeremy.

Keldon, Harper, and Olynyk shot a combined 5/27 (!!) tonight but somehow this loss is on Fox lol.
Over the past 2 home games, the Spurs have combined for 7-41 from 3pt if we exclude Champ and Wemby.

We also shot 13-46 in Indiana.

If I have to hear Sean Elliott say “Mr. 100%”

1 more time when he hits a 3 I’m going to throw my remote control. Shut up already. He’s not playing well.
For real, I'm thinking Mr 25% when he launches one up, as he has been shooting 24.53% from the three since the first OKC game.

Real galaxy brain takes in here predicting our Playoff fate after a short-handed loss.

Addicted to despair.

Hearing Sean say 'Mr. 100%' was the only thing that made me smile about this low octane loss. If only Carter Bryant had played more we could have really had our asses kicked in front of our home crowd. Mitch needs to get it together. I think Sean is well aware he is playing poorly. :ROFLMAO:

im so sick of all these teams making 20 threes against the spurs

come playoff time teams are gonna sag off harper and castle so these reps are good for them, they need to take and make mid range shots at least if this team is gonna make any noise in the playoffs

i thought Olynik played well again but couldnt shoot it straight

lets hope he can find his shot because he can really help this team

what can be done to remedy this?
Play the perimeter. If they get by so be it. Defend the rim on rotations. When Wemby gets back dare them to get by and contest Wemby. We have a generational paint defender yet we don’t take advantage and play the perimeter.

The downside to contending is that losses really suck. It was easier not to care when we were tanking.
Yeah but this is way more fun overall. We couldn't even enjoy wins during the tank, because all it meant was having 1% lower odds on tankathon. It was always like, "should I feel good or bad about this?" (Or, more often, I'd feel nothing at all.)

At least now, winning is good and losing is bad, the way nature intended. It's just good to feel things again.
