Game Thread Spurs (25-9) vs Trailblazers (15-20) (Sat 01/03/26) [7:00 PM CDT]

I think I'm more concerned with the poor defense along the 3 point line. Too many guys leaving shooters open to defend the paint. One of those tanking type defenses that they haven't broken the habit of doing.

This was the worst all around game I’ve seen this season. Defense had its moments but the offense was just awful. Is this a funk or are our shooters returning to earth?

This team is not going to find its needed footing before the playoffs. They are going to continue to sit Wemby evertime he falls on the floor and bumps a bone, and it's also so easy to game-plan them.

This is a first round out (maybe second round if we get really really lucky) team at best. We could very well go on a losingish-streak type run if the staff keeps trying to get cute with sitting players for every little nick and prick. Again, they won't find their footing if they keep doing this. Just my opinion.

Loss is on Fox. He can't be this mediocre. Really poor for most of the game, sort of good at the end, but was missing assignments even then. He's not playing his contract at all.
19/6/4 on 50% with 3 steals and just 1 turnover.
Also, name me one other team which has their star point guard defend players like Avdija?

You're an embarrassing human being and the first one I'll ever put on my ignore list, including ST days.
Now continue ignoring my Sochan questions.

Lol @ not playing to his contract at all. the Spurs might be in the lottery right now if it wasn't for Fox carrying them when Wemby was out a month.

The closeouts are horrible, we're terrified of them blowing past, but I'd much rather run them off the line and guide them inside than give up open threes. The coaching staff apparently disagree, because it's the scheme.

It feels like the plan is "just hope they miss" and tonight is an example of what happens when they don't.

When every game feels like "why does it feel like they can't miss", you know something is wrong with your defense.

Couple thoughts...

-this should've been a take over game from Fox once our offense sputtered hard out of the gates...again. i'm talking 25 fga's, not 14
-not seeing the vision with CB getting minutes right now, needs to go to the G to remember how to catch and hold a basketball
-Spurs don't have nearly the margin for error that they're playing like (and that Mitch is coaching/rotating like) even against the bad teams

I would be too, but I always thought it was dogshit

He got 12 n made 2...too many shots...wish we took knuepple
Also drafting Wemby was a mistake. He is injured permanently already at young age and it's going to be only worse.

Joking.
You take BPA and figure it out later.
