Game Thread Spurs (25-11) vs Lakers (23-11) (Wed 01/07/26) [8:30PM CST] on ESPN

the matchup would probably be better of Reaves was playing tbh. lakers offense is going go get their's through tough shotmaking all night anyway. adding another traffic cone to the rotation instead of more minutes from Smart would have been to our advantage. Smart isnt a worldbeater defender these days, but light years ahead of arkansas dreamboat

Disagree tbh. Reaves' generational whistle would have Castle fouling out by halftime tbh, glad he's still out.

Still plenty of weak points to attack if Smart/Vando are in the lineup. My biggest concern with Smart is him flopping his ass into Vic's kneees tbh.

Luka is shooting poorly from 3s last 3 or 4 games, let's hope our incapacity to defend the 3 is not going to wake him up

he's not hurt. its not like he's wearing a brace during or between stints in the game. he is spending pregame doing acrobatic shit. he doesn't look like he's limited or hobbled whatsoever on the court (aside from stamina issues stemming from being out of game shape because they keep sitting him)

"That's not who we are" tbh

It's game day of the 7th and deciding game of the 2030 NBA finals. Wemby got a paper cut during the post game interview last game after posting the first ever quintuple-double in NBA history (46 pts, 18 reb, 10 ast, 11 blk, 12 stls).

The Spurs have listed Wemby as questionable, and said if he does play it will be in a bench role on a minutes restriction. When asked, Mitch Johnson said the team is mostly concerned about Wemby's long term future.

This marks the 4th consecutive NBA finals where Wemby either misses or plays restricted minutes in a series deciding NBA finals game. The Spurs are 0-3 in these finals to date.

He just has to finish games if they play him.

Well, Mitch has found his own way to seemingly throw games. An homage to the master!

I like how the guys with the most love of their own wafts on this board weren't aware the Rue and Reeves have been in and out of the line up for some time now. LOL
People who enjoy the smell of their own farts are the worst. Those that don't even know what they are doing is farting....

It’s just one game, but feels like one where we need to right the ship. I’ll be adjusting expectations slightly for the season if we drop this one tbh

really want to see Fox be as aggressive as castle has been lately to start the game. I fee he settles into whatever is given to him and goes with the flow, which is not what he’s paid to do

Especially against a LAL team that has never heard of the concept of defense. If Wemby isn't starting, the gameplan should be for Fox to have the ball and attack the Lakers early and relentlessly.

This figures to be a terrific game.

Lakers, nationally televised, recent NBA Cup history, JJ on the edge, Wemby watch…

Lots of storylines.

One things for sure, we’ll likely be getting an Awful Coaching video postgame. :ROFLMAO:

Same. Even if Castle's inability to shoot is more damaging off the ball, Fox is the better offensive engine currently and he needs to assert himself more and not just acquiesce to Castle's domineering style.

I'm feeling a win tonight, but not without another poor 3 point shooting team going off against the Spurs, of course.

Spurs by 12pts. That bitter after taste of losing by 1pt against an injured team
