Game Thread Spurs (22-7) vs Thunder (26-4) (Thu 12/25/25) [1:30 PM CDT]

At this point, do they just keep doing what's working and keep bringing Victor off the bench? It does have the benefit of causing a nightmare matchup for opposing teams' backup centers
:st-lol:. He also seems to have good chemistry with Harper.
No way. He is the franchise player. He should be in the starting line up asap.

Wemby, despite some dumb mistakes in the 2nd Half, was still our anchor today and his impact transcends stat-sheets. He is the difference for us in this matchup. This kid wants to be great and it shows. Needless to say, we're extremely lucky to have him tbh.

I’m puzzled by the assists I remind at least 4 and I thought he would get 5 or 6 easily

Guys, I still don't understand how Rutgers wasn't really good. Harper is so damn good. I don't remember the last rookie who was this good for the Spurs going back to Timmy.

Wemby was an all time rookie but didnt translate to wins obviously.

Castle won us games last year and willed us through and through.

Yep not since Duncan’s last season. I could have sworn they did in 2017 but they only had a 9 game winning streak.
2016 was a stacked team and maybe the best in the Duncan era overall but the wheels on Duncan himself were clearly falling off. And even more unfortunately, the west was a 3 headed monster, and GSW winning 73 meant the 67-win Spurs had to play OKC in the second round, which was a 60-40 matchup in our favor as is, even though we only lost 1 home game all regular season, and the refs made sure we lost another and the series

College ball is just a different game. He never had the spacing there that he has to work with here... they're just two different games...

Yes, but in fairness Ibaka being injured in the playoffs was massive
Abaka was back for that series and didn't look hampered at all tbh. What really hurt them was the corpse of KMart in place of Harden, though Reggie Jackson took on the role of Spurs killer for them.
