Game Thread Spurs (22-7) vs Thunder (26-4) (Thu 12/25/25) [1:30 PM CDT]

Expect the Thunder to throw the kitchen sink at us. A desperate Champions hearing 'dethronement', 'kryptonite', 'next rivalry' talk will go hard for a 'statement game' on a marquee date.

A close loss is a moral win for us here.
This is what I've been saying (I want the games competitive and close regardless of result). The Spurs will go for the win, but I want the game to be close. If that happens, I believe that will show people (Spurs themselves too) that they're legit.

Fuck it, I want the Thunder to jump out to a big lead. Then just when they start feeling confident, the Spurs methodically come back and beat them handily by the end of the fourth. That would completely shatter their confidence in a way that another solid win wouldn't.

Spurs got this, no sweat! Since it’s the big day also like to see the Dubs, Lakers and Nugs get walloped. Go Spurs Go!!!!!

I feel good about this game. Listening to a podcast focused identifying X factors on today's slate, I'm tempted to agree with guy who identified Mitch Johnson as our X factor today, but really it's growth - specifically, rapid growth. Was watching some highlights of the last game, and really loved the play development on the play where Dylan drove baseline with Barnes (or Vassell? I forget) positioned for a corner three with Hartenstine and SGA ready to collapse, and here comes Champ with a cut for a monster dunk where the cut and Dylan's recognition are the most impressive part of the play. Would not have dreamed this at the beginning of the season.

Long read for my short attention span. I’ve questioned Daignealt’s in game decisions all along. Definitely think Spurs have the advantage with coaching.

They are all counting on OKC's "historical team" record, reigning champion and not allowing themselves to lose to the same team 3 times in 2 weeks and the home court/thunderrefs advantage.
Well, I’m thinking we have a close game here. One way or the other.

just imagine we go in there and beat them like we did the heat in game 3. talk about deflating. what im interested is seeing what Okc coaching staff does to change it up. cant beleive its business as usual. maybe more zone, maybe plaaying traditional center on wemby. realistically, if our 3 pt shooting is above 35% we just cant lose. our def will not change on these guys. the 3-headed guard monster will contonie to give them problems. limit the TOs, win the rebounding battle, and push the pace. GSG!

I hope mitch throws in some olynck to bang bodies with hartenstein - as we was grabbing too many offensive boards and trying to bully in the paint...olynck can burn some fouls, get in his head, throw them off...for a few minutes here and there...
maybe even some french vanilla plus olynck minutes to bang hard in the paint because the refs are going to be allowing okc to hack today...imo
