Game Thread Spurs (22-7) vs Thunder (26-4) (Thu 12/25/25) [1:30 PM CDT]

To be fair... this is some of the most complementary and respectful "hate" our team has gotten in awhile :st-lol:
I went to read this thread... and it's actually a lot of Thunder fans talking about how much they like our team and how they needed a good ass kicking.
Honestly... it gives me a lot of respect for Thunder fans.

Won't happen but this is the prime opportunity of a psychological mind game if we sit Wemby. I understand it's a big game, blah blah. Could you imagine if we lose by 5-10 points without Wemby? I expect a close one with OKC pulling ahead and winning by 8-10, with our full team playing. I will take it. No pressure on us at all.

GO SPURS!

To get a rivalry OKC should try to win one tbh… just sayin’

Just went and looked at that thread and I agree. Most of the takes in there were level-headed. Not too many making excuses and blaming the officials. Same with their post-game thread. Respect to them.

OKC fans on Twitter are a different story, however. Those fuckers are annoyingly obnoxious as hell.

No respect for the thunderrefs or their fans. Hated them since that refball ass 2012 series with harden and the KD rip through before it got patched out. That 2014 WCF was beautiful redemption, especially with that fake ibaka injury they tried to feed us.

Now we had to endure miserable basketball (SGA fairy ball + football defense never getting called correctly) rewarded with hopefully a one-time fluke championship on the back of one of the most lucky injury runs of all time.

Yet people are calling this an “all time” team lmao

Never mind. I take back the nice things I said about OKC fans on Reddit. They trashed Wemby and the Spurs hard in this thread. Fuck them tbh. Now I really want to beat them again tomorrow.

I hope we can get some cool coordinate in-game chants going to continue bringing the European football vibe. Wemby would eat that shit up.

I saw an English dude post some hilarious videos from the OKC-SAS Cup Semifinal game, singing "You'll Never Win In Europe!" that just cracked me up. I would love if the Spurs and the Jackals built a tradition around chants... and honestly I hope the new stadium is completely built to accommodate the fan experience. I wrote this in the Project Marvel thread, but I really hope the new stadium really has something like The Wall at the Clipper's new stadium or The Yellow Wall at Borussia Dortmund's stadium. Let's make San Antonio the toughest place in the league for opposing teams.

It would be amazing to see it travel to away games.
Not them themselves going from city to city, but the local Spurs fans in the area going and doing the chants.
The team would hear it, I bet.

Like I got 6 tickets for Spurs @ Charlotte at the end of January and we're going to give it a go. Hopefully any other Spurs fans in the stadium pick it up and join.
Hopefully nobody wants to beat us up...

I have noticed GSG chants popping up on a lot of road games, I feel like that's about the best you can hope for on the road but it's a great sign!

It would be cool though if there was some time out at the end of a tough game on the road and Mitch is drawing up a play...
Then the team hears this SA home crowd chant from out of nowhere, penetrating through the home cheers.

C'mon... Adrenaline goes from 10 to 11.

Well, we're going for it and I know we'll fail, but avalanches sometimes start with a pebble starting to fall.

I hate everything about the OKC franchise. From them stealing away the team from Seattle, to their stupid prayers before the games, to the corniness that envelops anyone on their roster. FUCK OKC.

Don't forget the worst commentary in the league.
Or second worst after the Warriors.

They kind of don't have the firepower for haymakers.
Their haymakers are forcing the opponents into consecutive empty possessions and live ball turnovers which result in easy points on the other end.
You won't see them have a game winning barrage of 3s often.
This, exactly.

It's Champ's time.

Bold Prediction: Champ sinks 6 threes and scores 25 points AND does not step out of bounds with the ball, not even once.

8 wins in a row, with Champ as leading scorer to extend the balanced lead-scorer streak? Me likey:st-hungry:
