Game Thread Spurs (21-7) vs Thunder (26-3) (Tue 12/23/25) [7:30 PM CDT]

If the Spurs can make it a game throughout, I consider that a win.

I said a few days ago that two competitive games are what I want most (regardless of the result) in these two games. Got one bigtime competitive game, now got to get another.

Relive the Wemby Chet moment again :st-lol:

Soon as I saw this when watching back the game, I said to myself, yeah, Victor doesn't like Chet at all.

NBATV is showing Spurs v OKC 2012 Playoff game to try to give OKC some kind of positive vibes on this night

I don't know how that helps OKC. It makes me mad just thinking about that series and makes me want to obliterate them. More motivation for the Spurs if you ask me.

Man, how are you supposed to include guys like Kelly is a trade after stuff like this (His wife seems like a great person too. The SA community benefits from people like that). What do you guys think? I want to fortify the team as I believe they are legit now/this season. As I've mentioned before, the young guys have accelerated the timeline. Do the Spurs ride with the team we have, or do the Spurs try and make some upgrades if they can?

:st-lol: no they aren't, they're starting to play the tougher teams in the league after feasting on bottom-dwellers the first part of the season. They're still the champs and the best team in the league, they just aren't the juggernaut a lot of people made them out to be. Said in the beginning of the season the Nuggets, Rockets, and Warriors (looking grim for the Dubs rn tho) could beat them in a series. Now we might be able to add the Spurs to the list; only thing(s) they lack are playoff experience and a legit starting PF to win it all tbh.

OKC are still great, but maybe the Spurs are just better than anyone ever expected them to be so far, and the Spurs are getting better as each game goes on.

Very true. Too early to start thinking that far ahead.

He'll prolly never get to 100 again tbh. Not for any fault of his own though.
Yea the streak was bound to end sooner rather than later unfortunately. Teams just aren't challenging him at the rim very often anymore. His presence alone is such a deterrent that they'd rather not risk it. Pretty nuts. If he'd played in the 90's, he'd shatter that record tbh.

If Wemby played in the 90s and (somehow) stayed healthy, he'd average north of 10 BPG tbh.

You think the reasons could (also) be beyond basketball?

Like a rift with Mitch or lack of professionalism/lateness etc?

It's weird to see, as if he's being punished for something
It seems like it. Let’s see next game.

As much as I love Castle, if Wemby's health doesn't hold up, Harper is the Spurs' biggest hope going forward. Kid has generational prospect written all over him. Only issue is his own health concerns tbh.
I love Harper but equally I’m impressed with Castle. His ability to get in the foul line is made for playoffs. Once those outside shots become consistent, he’s easily a franchise-player caliber.

Agreed tbh. Not that we have to worry about it regardless, Spurs have both. Just an embarrassment of riches :st-lol:...

Incredible performance from the Spurs tonight! What an awesome game and the drum-chant that Wemby led after the game was really cool too. Hope that becomes a staple for us moving forward after victories. GSG!

Having a luxury of always having multiple PG at any time just makes it harder to defend the Spurs, when the ball is always finding a creator, that’s 48 minutes of relentless attacking, could break any teams defense into submission- damn it’s so f@cking nice to watch

The Frost Bank Center could become a very loud arena where other teams would have a hard time winning

:st-lol: saw that too. Forgot the Spurs had a 20-point lead in the game. Refs were the real MVPs that series tbh.
werent we up 2-0 and lost 4 straight in series.? also won first 10 playoff games then lost 4 straight. Pop did some stupid things with lineup too.

OKC is pussy. If you look at the demeanor, our guys are killers and the OKC players look like soft bitches. We are in their heads now.

Also our defense gave them a ton of problems. I lost count how many times they ran the shotclock all the way down before getting a shot off.

Three elite PGs. maybe thats something new no team has ever had. No drop off in creating. Maybe wave of future. -easier said than done to find three though.

Yop. One of the most disappointing postseasons of my fandom outside 6 the following season tbh.

Don't disagree on the second part but the Thunder have won far more meaningful games than this iteration of the Spurs tbh. Can't say they're in their heads unless they do it in the postseason.

I still get worked up/angry thinking about it. We got screwed over with the officiating too if you ask me.

Yeah, still to early to say something like that. This was only a regular season game so far. A great game and win, though.
